no........not the diaper pants...........just v baggy pleated trousers, cuffed. I don't know if the cuff was a part of the original design since they are at a second hand store and it could have been done by the original owner. I've been thinking about them for about a month and tried them on Saturday..........they are a nice weight cotton so they would be perfect for now and Fall

purechris, it doesn't sound like it would be too hard to wear them...maybe with flat shoes (flip flops, converse, sandals, some trainers, etc) and a belt and a t shirt. a bit slobbish, i know, but i think summer takes all the energy out of me for fun. also, are they cuffed as in slightly too short? i like a little bit of ankle showing. didn't you wear pants sort of like these for softgrey's ny street style post? i liked those. the outfit could be repeated :ninja: with these new pants. sorry if i'm not much help, i figured if they are at a thrift store, a quick response is more neccessary.

I think jeans or khaki torusers and a simple top (a light colour, like cream) would work well - if you keep the colours of your clothes simple and light, the outfit overall will look good :flower:

SOS--thx:flower:..........the way you describe it is all I can come up with....that's why I was asking for advice..........the pants you've seen were rolled up due to rain;)........I wish the ones I'm talking about were just slightly short, but they are actually perfect!!!

thx everybody!!! think I might go get them today or tomorrow

Hey i just bought dark blue skinny jeans and i'm wondering what can i wear with them like to create different outfits??? Thank you for your help

Could you tuck them into military style boots in the fall, purechris? Seems like that might work. Kind of recreating the Yohji baseball look, but with the boot as the slim calf...

that's what Soft said.....but more like Cloak with my Dsquared boots........that's it, I'm going to buy thim........................

thnx for all the tips:flower:

What to wear with this Balenciaga top?

Hello everybody,
I got the Balenciaga top at Filene's basement and I was quite excited to find such a unique piece with very low price. My next question is though what I can wear with it. It fits more relaxed on me and I don't wear skinny pants (I am only 5'4"...and about 100 lbs although I do have hips, asian). I want to find the right bottom to make the whole outfit shine. Is black pants or jeans the only choice? Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you very much!

Hey Caffeine!

For future reference, there's a thread devoted to "What to wear it with" here:

http://www.thefashionspot.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10605&page=1

But in the meantime, where does the bottom of the top hit you? High hip, mid-hip? With all those colors in the top, I think you could pair a lot of colors with it (or non-colors). A white, a slate gray. Also, I think a skirt would be quite nice. A pencil skirt would keep the slim silhouette or you could do a nice full skirt with such a slim top :flower:

btw, it hits on high hips.

Thank you Curious! I thought there was a post regarding that topic but couldn't find it. I copied the post there. and thank you for your suggestions!

So I purchased these Miu Miu shoes over a month ago... however, I have yet to wear them. Do I match it with something else that is purple? Should I offset it with teal or camel? I don't really like wearing them with even my most tailored jeans.

Same question goes for accessories/handbag. I have no clue why I'm not satisfied with anything I pair these up with ...

Any ideas?

Peach! I saw those I was like "these look like those purple shoes I saw on TFS" The ones I saw were white leather with red piping, hideous. The proportion is incredible, its a gorgeous shoe. Id wear them with any deep color, a deep teal pant with a chocolate top and a deep red bag and gold jewelry.

You found that at Filene's Basment!? Wow, the only thing I find around here are Versace, Miu Miu, Missoni, Cavalli, the only designers worth while are Gucci and Moschino.

Since you do have hips Id recommend a full skirt, that's a very fresh proportion and would make the piece seem high fashion rather than wierd. A black, blue, green bottom would go nicely I dont recommend white, too stark. You could do jeans but that'd require a VERY skinny jean because any other cut wouldn't do the top justice, another pant you could use is gaucho those would work quite nicely with the top.

Shoewise anything works with that top, Converses to sandals to pumps.

yes, I think the purple suede does suit the shoe much better. They are incredibly comfortable, and the proportions are great. I suppose I've just been frustrated because everything I have tried on has been of a lighter fabric (due to the season, and partially due to boho invading every corner, of any store that I can afford). I found an rich, emerald green dress that I could have possibly pulled off... if it weren't for the fabric. It was a light, billowy dress, and I felt that the shoe just weighted the whole thing down too much. I suppose I'll get more use out of them in the beggining of fall, when I wear more structured fabrics.

I just get so antsy when I buy new shoes! If I didn't look strange, I'd put them on directly after I paid for them. Right at the register.

You gave me a great idea! A chocolate suit with a red shirt under would look GORGEOUS. What was wrong with the emerald green dress which sounds lovely?

I do the same with new shoes, sometimes I actually do wear them out of the store.
