Well when I took a few fashion classes back in the dark ages, I was taught there were 3 basic sizing categories: petite, missy, and women's. I most definitely wear missy ... one of the department stores here briefly mixed their petite and missy stuff together, and it made for some rather distressing moments in the dressing room  Smaller armholes, shorter rise, no way no how does it work on me. Clearly contemporary is often cut a bit differently than designer's main lines, but they're fairly interchangeable, and ... there's no size 8C. There is 8P and 18W. I would think contemporary would fall under missy ... I've never heard anything about it's being a whole different animal?

alright guys, I'm still playing w/ that skirt...before I buy a navy/burgundy sweater/polo and a grey cardi, let's see some possible looks for the spring/summer...muted colors...
Let me know if you have any advice, suggestion, or ideas

we must have a thread somewhere about sizing...
if we don't i guess we should start one...
the 'rules' have def been modified...
in fact...they get revised regularly...

^ I think the top in #1 works ... perhaps a bit more colorful shoes?

How brilliant! :crush:
I just kicked myself - I only looked at the SS05 pics but not SS04 pics...it's on SS04 runway!:woot:

 that outfit including details...a gray off-the-shoulder sweater will do...
My cream top's neck line is probably too high for this look...:innocent:

This is cracking me up...I think I've had too much coffee LOL. Too true Ta-ta...I'd also been thinking that if GG had all the money she'd spent on postage and the store credit, she'd be able to buy Hermes boots.Too cute.If I'd been wealthy as a teen I may have been the same LOL.

I've only done it a few times... Sunglass hut, Guess, Best buy, and now trying to sell that Versace one  I try to find free shipping codes for most places, but especially shipping it back does add up. I'm done shopping at NAP unless I really want something that I cant find anywhere else at all, they dont refund the expensive shipping or the customs fees. I didn't realize how much this was after reutning the chloe, moschino, and marni boots.

Caffiene -- I like the first top the best, I think the last ones works too. The second ones seems too much with the baggy top and full skirt on someone so small. I think the red shoes are a great idea, you'll look just like dorthy from wizard of oz. I coulda swore she has a skirt just like that one you have B)

^ Funny, red is what I was thinking ... and I hadn't seen the runway pix ;) I was thinking maybe you could take it a bit nautical if you wanted to ...

 Agreed! But now that I've finally come to that conclusion, there's a dress I haven't gotten off my mind for weeks now :innocent:

Caffeine - Not to confuse the situation, but I liked the navy/burgundy combos as well for winter. For the spring looks you modeled, I liked 1 & 3. Something's off in 2. And I LOVE the idea of red :woot: Totally modern day Dorothy  It's a great skirt & looks fabulous on you ;)

What is the largest sized handbag you would take to cocktails at a semi-formal bar with no dress code? Note, not your ideal handbag, but if you only had big ones. So this is the size that if you don't have any bags this size or smaller, you don't bring one at all and put everything in your coat pockets.

I hope this makes sense. For example, if it was this bag or no bag, would you bring a 30X20cm (11.5X8 inches)? (length/height)

I know lots of people preffer smaller evening bags, but I think big bags work just as well. I'd go as big as fendi spy/ MJ stam :)

^ I would just go with whatever you've got, and put an evening bag on your list if you want one ^_^ I frequently am not carrying an evening bag at evening events, because I've come straight from work and still have my day bag. And I'm sure I'm not the only one ;)

I want to wear this circle skirt at a Xmas party, it is silver lace with silver lining. I had originally thought of wearing a white wrap shirt, but the skirt hangs below the waist, and with the wrap my waistline disappears. It looks too casual with a black top, so I am thinking either a white or silver top but what style? I'd like to go sophisiticate and retro.

Thank you Curious, Tata, and guessgirl!
I thought about it and I realize that I never buy basics unless:
1.work needs-extremely necessary
2.to wear with my statement pieces
I really work on my wardrobe backwards

black satin top will be a safe option...Some rich colors will work...I like burgundy or royal blue...I also think that you can add a wide belt to define your waist?

A grey cashmere turtleneck+sparkling jewelry will also work well with it:)
