What can I wear it with? (December 2003 - March 2010)

My first post, after months of lurking. Yay!

Gorgeous dress ! I prefer it tied on the back.
I like colorful statement accessories which personalize the outfit, so I don't disagree with your friend =) Emerald green or deep purple would look great with that dress. Same goes for blue and silver.
If you have thin legs, you could pull it off with flats. Flats, especially rounded flats, tend to make legs look stubbier. So I recommend that you take the risk and opt for heels.
As for jewelry - I would go for a long silver necklace or a long pearl necklace, preferably both

Now, I have a problem with this cashmere scarf I bought from J. crew without thinking. (doh. It's now on sale)

The colors are a bit off. It's a lighter blue on one side and brown on the other. (I should have chosen the white/black one in stead...) It's 56" long.

I've got graduation in a couple of weeks and i just bought the dress yesterday but i really need ideas for jewelry and shoes i dont want to wear heels because we need to walk up these steps to recieve our certificate and dont want to trip and stack it in front of everyone! so i was thinking either flats or wedges, or round toe platforms? im not sure. and possibly a necklace with some charms or something? any ideas anyone? Help wuld be much appreciated!!

i love those chanel necklaces! they are similar to what vims described.. great minds think alike? hehe
im thinking necklaces like that or a long silver chain necklace with a charm on the end that has black and silver charms, and some ballet flats, or round toes with a little heel, either in a colour or black. i shall go shopping and see what i find. THANKS FOR THE HELP!

Will you be wearing jeans with it? How is the weather there? I'm allways concerned with appropriate weather dressing. If the weather is nice I think the sleeveless top will go best with sandals. - metallic shades.

ps. i like it better with the black ribbon tied around the front with maybe a bow tied at the front just to the side. it looks younger whereas around the back looks a but prissy and grannyish not in a good way.

I love that idea Aris.that is going to be my next outfit when i go out with the girls.But wore a top similar to the one on the pic that i posted but it was black and purple with a purple tank and some jeans and purple pumps.

Pair it with an oversized cardigan and flat knee boots. it'd be a great contrast between casul and dressy

bettycooper, i love that dress. i think you should follow everyones good advice. black, something oversized to dress it down. i think it'd be nice with some flat lanvin style pumps.

I'm having a problem because I usually wear black and white...
I bought a wine-colored tent dress from APC. It's cold and I have no idea what to wear over it, or what shoes and tights to wear with it.
I also have a hunter green tie neck top (also from APC, curse them) that I can't seem to match to anything.
Any suggestions? They would be much appreciated.
