^ at first i was gonna wear a black dress with creamy details that i wore last year to my prom. but it didn't fit right, so i just went to see what else i could find.
i'm kind of having second thoughts now. cause i don't know if i would be able to wear it.
i was thinking of adding a layer of some 'puffy' fabric under the skirt. cause i was going for a '50 look (as Reese Witherspoon in the movie Walk the line)

then i would try to find a blk angora short sleeve swtr and some pointy blk stilettos...:flower:

maybe some killer sparkly long earrings...

^ thanks. i love how it sounds :flower:

but do you think black will look good?
because if i'm add that fabric under the skirt and i go for black as the color, then i'd choose black shoes and top, so that the skirt's color would be the only other color.

and the sparkle...!!

the sparkle adds light so it won't be so dark...
just find some good cheap earrings...
you'll look great...

:flower:...

this way...
you will shine , not the dress..

make sure you do nice make up...
i would do dark mascara and a shiny mouth...

and you MUST do short sleeve or push the slv up because you need to show enough skin so that it doesn't get too dark...
so arms are a must...

;)

Yasmin -- I would definatley go with a scarf over a charm for that bag, the bag is kind of structured and I think it would add a little bit of softness to it :flower:

Guessgirl, (or anyone else), would you happen to have a picture of how you would tie the scarf to such a bag?

I dont know if this helps, but this is a picture of a scarf on my paddington:

I always wrap mine around the handle towards the back and the outside, I think that looks the best.

Alright, so..although I really feel ..strange posting a pic of my full length self here, I really need some advice.

I'm going to this New Year's Eve Party with a bunch of my parents' (first part of it will be with them anyhow, due to my parents' request)..and I found a dress which I quite like. I don't want to look boring though so I need to accessorize it..
And please give me tips what shoes/handbag to wear with it! I'm torn between wearing something cream-y coloured or bright red or..yeah..

Some examples posted below..but of course any advice is very appreciated.

very cute! I personally like the single locket/pendant look myself. I find it quite sweet. It's a black dress so any shoe will do. Colored, black, high, flat it's up to you dear. You really can't go wrong!

Thanks! I like the pendant too.
And it's not really a black dress..it's a very deep grey with a hint of, I don't know..blue? The piccies don't show it. But I suppose you're right that any shoe would go with it.

I like the pendant. :flower:

But personally I would keep the neck clean and wear a nice bracelet. :)

I have this Armani suit, in black wool crepe:

I have no idea how to accessorize it. Pins, scarves, and most necklaces seem to take away from the drape of the neckline. Black shoes and a black handbag seem the most obvious choices--but then I'm dressed in complete monochrome black, which seems harsh. I have the idea that colored shoes/handbag would come across as being a bit forced.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

I wear similar suits everyday.
I wear them with a white button down if I want to look very serious, black high heels and a black bag.
Other way is with a black T and a Hermes scarf with some red and gray in it, red belt, black shoes and a gray/black tweed Chanel bag. I put the scarf under the jacket the gray comes under the lapels and I pull out the red end between the buttons of the jacket.
I also wear this suits with black/white pattern shirts. Today I wear similar Dolce Gabbana suit with Black and white stripe silk shirt with a big YSL black belt, worn high - the shirt is un tucked and it's slightly longer than the jacket, Black patent leather boots and the black/gray tweed bag.

HELP me plan my christmas eve outfit - pics included

okay..
so the plan for tonight is..
diner with friends - cozy italian restaurant
afterwards, we'll hit some club/lounge/bar.. all the usual stuff.

well i have this outfit in mind..

greecian top in black jersey (ivory tank underneath) + dark bootcut jeans

i added the gold wovenbelt (its really bright.. very bling)
and the necklace. look at the closeup pics.

i also have a silver woven belt...
or elastic sequin belts in both pewter & gold.
but i like this one the best. what do you think?

so the question is.

which jacket do i wear?
from left -
brown velvet blazer, vintage tweed jacket, black 3 button classic kneelength coat

and which scarf?
i pretty much have pashiminas in every color so just gimme a suggestion..
i have red, pastel yellow, ivory, light blue, sage green, pink, hot pink, and gray.....

and which shoes?
pointy boots in brown suede
round toe boots in teal

and which bag?
lv speedy 25
babyblue balenciaga

should i wear a headband?
(i actually look good in them.. kinda.. or so i think)

my hair is..
dark brown wavy & medium-long at the moment.
i can either let it down or pull it up. doesnt matter. no preference.

or should i just skip this outfit and wear the second outfit?
pink top + white t underneath + black necklace + same jeans

im not too crazy about this outfit, but it is an alternative.

or if you want to style the outfit differently, feel free to let me know..

ie what type of jewerly / belt / scarf etc...
makeup suggestions are good too :flower:

Wear the white shirt and the pink top over it, + the gray jacket, it looks great. That outfit will make people notice you rather than wearing the usual a black top and a big belt to go with it. I like when people try to wear something light during winter, it makes the surrounding people alot happier.

thanks! do you have suggestion for bag/scarf? :flower:

I would definetly go for the brown bag since the colour blends in very fine with pink, white and grey. Don't wear the headband nor the blue scarf, wear a brown, black, pink or white scarf if you have one. The jewlery you are wearing in the last picture together with the red top is perfect. Concerning the hair you should wear it in the style that you look best in.
