What can I wear it with? (December 2003 - March 2010)

I need some help...

next saturday I´m going out with some girls from work, we´re going to a libanese (spelling?) restaurant, and then we´re going to some club.

I am planning on wearing black opaque pantyhoses with black shorts over them, the shorts go down to above the knee, and I am wearing black pumps with that.
what should I wear above the waist? I have no clue whatsoever....

^I think it would look great with a simple white tee and jeans. You could use it in loads of ways. As a headscarf, a belt or around your neck. It's really nice, good CB choice!

I'm posting a couple vintage dresses I have, one was from my grandma and the other a goodwill buy. I am trying to figure out if I can really wear them..accesorize them some way to make it look like I'm not wearing a halloween costume around. Can anyone think of something..or should I retire these dresses to my collection?

shoegal, i think the red dress is gorgeous....
is it fitted on you?.... the waist detailing is very sweet looking....

you could pair it with some little navy flats and a navy scarf tied around your neck or hair to pull it together.....
wear some cool tights and flat tall boots.....kind of a 'mod' look.....
for cooler weather, you could try and put a fitted long-sleeved tee underneath in a dark colour and then match it to your boots.... navy, black or brown would probably all work well, no?.....

i'd love to see it on.....i think its very cute....

AdoreFaith..thank you so much for your suggestions! Mod is exactly what I think of it everytime I look at it. I'll work on getting a picture in it in the next day or so. I have just been worried that the color is too bright and obnoxious, but maybe if I wear it out at night it wouldnt be so bad?

I think the navy accessories would work nicely for summer. Thanks so much!!

The red one, I'd wear with flats, with a big structured bag of some kind- in white.

i just bought a really cute cotton jersey skirt with a little bit of the bubble style with a black and white toile print. it hits a bit above the knee

justme- do the jeans come in a darker wash?....
i think in the light wash they are a bit 'barbie'....
but i also think that is because of the model's pose and her bare stomach....


i have a few pairs of 'skinny' jeans and love them...
they can be very chic....
i prefer them in dark denim and black, though....

they look great with long sleeved striped tees....
all kinds of tops, blouses and sweaters....
layered tank tops and fun necklaces in the summer....
you can wear them with flats or dress them up with cute pumps.....

i'd say go for it......
but check to see if they have them in a darker colour.......

I'm bidding on this skirt on ebay .it reminds me of those rainbow colored skirts carrie used to wear on sex and the city .(i'm going to get it tailored a bit shorter though)
Q: what would you advise to wear with it ?

well- If, like you said, shorter-(I'd go Knee length)

with a skirt like that, the rest of the outfit has to be REALLY simple- I think a solid plain red t shirt would look good

or pick up any of the colors in the t shirt really- but then have bag and shoes in a neutral like black.

I think pretty much any type of pump, sandal, or flat would work well- though I'd avoid ankle straps
