InnocentFairy that dress is amazing! i think it looks cute like that, in that bagguy style. i would wear it over really skinny jeans, or with shorts underneath if it's a bit seethrough, but i like the baggy look on the top and just skinny legs like yours on the bottom. you can give it a little shape with a fitted jacket/trench sort of thing

Cool, thank you so much! I will try a few things and post them - then you guys can let me know what look is best? I thought maybe leggings also (as well as skinny jeans?)

I'm digging the belt/leggings(? can't tell...my work monitor is crappy as hell), but I like that and you look cool with that jacket as well...I'm not too sure of the scarf IMO

question for you lot...I discovered a skinny black tie in the depths of my dads closet and I was wondering what kind of shirt I'd be able to wear it with...I mean, I don't think it'd look too good with a patterned shirt, so should I just go with a shirt? What color pants as well...I wear khakis a lot but I was thinking a pair of grey or black pants might go well too...I'm lookin for ideas for more formal matters...i'm not too into slinging ties over tshirts and that deal =P

i'd wear espadrills or wedges with the skirt, def NOT flats as i think because the print is so bold it will make the porportions look bad....yes and any sort of pump or vintage kitten heel....and i think ankle straps, especially on wedges or espadrills would look so cute!

for the top i'd go with a colored tank or halter or a black top with a cardigan...or off the shoulder 3/4 length sleeve top

I bought this - its about '1940s/1950s' vintage from Paris, but I don't know whether to keep it or sell it? As the admiral look isn't in anymore and also it doesn't fit me too well. Its very unique!

InnocentFairy ~ it looks really unique. Just because this look is not in anymore it doesn't mean you can't wear it. Sure.. if it doesn't fit you well.. Maybe try tailoring first and if you really can't do anything than sell..

i love fashion, but it's really hard for me to pick out cute but affordable dresses because everything i like happens to be insanely expensive. so i went basic and bought this urban outfitters tunic, but i have the body of a 12 year old boy and can't wear it as is because it just goes straight down and makes me look shapeless. i want to belt it at the hip, but i have no idea what kind of belt to get. also, shoes? i was thinking black peep-toes...not the most original but i wanted to get some anyway. i also want to wear a slightly gawdy long gold necklace with it.

If you want to go with the gold necklace you can do that and pair it with an elastic stretchy belt coming back from the 80s! I have found some at thrift stores and at Forever 21

My first reaction was definitely a belt, but now I'm not too sure. You say you have a "body of a 12 year old boy" and I think that works with the dress. I may be alone in this, though. As for shoes, probably flats. But, definitely, definitely do not go with long necklaces. The dress has too much volume for long necklaces....

I think I am going to sell it actually - it just doesn't suit me. I am going to put it on eBay - its a shame because its so unique and plus it was made in Paris (AND it is quite old vintage but is in beautiful condition - no rips or anything), it does look great with skinny jeans and a baggy vest top BUT its just not bloody working on me!!!
