What can I wear it with? (December 2003 - March 2010)

So I have this dress in black. It falls to my knees, not above the knee, like on the model. Can I layer this with pants still? It looks a little precious, very little girl, even in black, so I want to tone that down a bit. Thanks!

I would appreciate any input on what to wear with this Dior Homme ripped seam, wool sweater.... Im not sure about layering, jeans, shoes, accessories?? I feel that if I don't wear other complementary garments, it will look very plain and ordinary. thankss

marcj - I have an immense desire to see that with a trouser rather than a jean I actually think it's pretty versatile and can be worn with pretty much anything and any color!

Desparate need!! I bought thsi Marc Jacobs dress and I need a pashmina thingy to go with it, what color should I pick?

I'm wearing with a pair of peep toe mary jane pewter high heel.

I was thinking of something really deep and rich to offset the cooler tones in the outfit. Maybe a rich burgundy or a jewel-toned purple?

marcj ......I actually think it's pretty versatile and can be worn with pretty much anything and any color!

I second that- you could wear it over a t shirt or a white buttondown- or by itself. It would go with jeans, or with trousers (I'm Picturing grey trousers)

with black accesories, or with very dark brown (Which I love- it seems more rich and warm than black in my opinion)

hello. never came there so first in this thread.
I'm thinking of buying a cape (vintage one from the 60s. in wool. it's for women.) this makes my shoulders look perfect (lol).
but i absolutely don't know what to wear with it. when I try it on me I wore a shirt, a jean and converse. honestly this is not the perfect outfit to go with it.... maybe jean is ok, but converse with that is "eeww"... I need advice for the top and shoes! but I don't wanna wear something ver "classy" (this is not really my style)....But I love it soo much!

Love the all-black-look, you avoid the superhero-look, it's very dark and romantic. Tuck the jeans into the boots. I could wear something similar myself, no doubt.

thanx LVIzo. I'm def not into the skinny jeans. but you're right about the boots. I actually thought about it. and v neck seems ok, too. for the gloves I'm kind of scared to fall into the "gothic" style....but thanx again!
and I won't fall into the "superhero" style as I'll wear it all 3 butons closed...

Its pale yellow, light turquoise and off white.. The colors are not the biggest problem, I was thinking more in the line of style, the jacket is so sweet in itself I need a contrast not so go totally candy floss... I hope that made sense?

I bought a new CK jeans dark denim jacket today, and it looks excellent... I tried it on while I was wearing jeans (because that's just what I was wearing at the time). And I know that I am not a denim+denim person.

So... black pants? I'm just not sure.
