I love those purple peeptoes
guys i need some help...i got this derek lam skirt a while ago (see the one in the pic below..style.com) and while i love it and think it is totally cute...am not sure what kind of top to wear with it...b/c the waistband is kind of pouffy, i'm not quite sure what i can wear with it...

i think both loose or more fitting tops will look good with that skirt as long as it is tucked in like in the picture you posted.
the top on the picture is more loose, but it looks great and i think that it would look great too if you were wearing something more fitted like a classic shirt.
i'd defenetely not wear tops with empire waist cut, or the ones that are more fitted on the top and loose on the bottom.
i'm not sure if any of that made sense, but i hope it helped

thanks for ur suggestions!! i actually have tried it before with a classic shirt, but i don't think the proportions were rigt before the skirt has a looser waistband?? i was thinking of wearing it with some cute knee length boots, but still am at a loss with the shirt....i was thinking perhaps a white tank top and some sort of fitted cardigan?? i keep trying on things in my close and nothing works!!
I have been loving the lacy tights from Karl Lagerfeld's SS07 show and I recently found comparable lacy tights at target in black and white. THe black I have no problem using. THey go with any black shoe and look good with almost anything I'd wear opaque black tights with. The cream tights is where I'm stuck. I don't like them with dark shoes b/c it makes me feel like a cow with white legs and black hooves. SO I'd definately like some non-black shoe. It's so hard to find some that look right! ANd for the look on top, what would you wear? I'm thinking mini dresses or dressy shorts or maybe a tweed mini? I dunno. I need some help. I looked through the "Model's streetstyle thread but I still would like more ideas. THank you for any help!

^Personally, I think wedges or platform pumps would look pretty with it.

^That's difficult. Red would be too bright, white to light and I don't think you can find the shoes that have the same colour as the dress, so the only colours I can think of are brown (!) and black, as a second option.

Do you mean the lace on the dress or the lace of the tights? At first I thought you meant the tights but now I think you meant the dress. Since they are on style.com I doubt I could afford them anyway, but I found a cheaper copy at nordstrom.com. The Jessica Simpson "Cam". Too bad it doesn't come in cream.

THese Cynthia Vincents are adorable but I can't justify $350 for shoes on my lack of income. Not to mention white ones that won't get much wear.

I would go with a teal (I think that would be especially nice), navy, grey, brown, peachy or purple color. Though I wouldn't mind wearing them with a black and white patterned dress either.

ahaaaa.....thank you. So mini dresses that are not too body conscious, little looser. That's what I had in mind but I wasn't sure I could get away with so many fabrics and colors. And darker shoes....I was thinking to go light but I do like how Sascha looks with those red jazz shoes. Also, I like her printed dress but I think I'd stick with something simpler. Thank you again... I need to go shopping!
