Did you hear about the murder that happened there recently...everyone is still really on edge...

I studied law in Sydney University and now I am moving to Paris in October to do my masters at Mod Art

Ohhh, how exciting! Studying art in Paris seems like it'd be a lot of fun and really interesting.

I goto University of Virginia and am studying Aerospace Engineering. Nothing nearly as exciting.

Got my BBA in Music Business and my Masters in Sports Admin from Belmont University in Nashville.

I start my second Masters in Communications - Entertainment at USC in January.

What College/University Do You Go To?

Searched for a forum on this already - but could not find. Please delete if there already is one .

So, I have been wondering recently if there are any other people from my school are on TFS - as everyone on my buddylist here I have never actually met . I hope this will allow other TFS college students to connect with their peers.

Ill start:

I go to The New School (Lang - the liberal arts college - not Parsons B)) in NYC.

^ I saw that - I think it was just fashion schools tho - of which I do not attend.

i did my bfa in illustration at pratt, and now i'm getting my masters in illustration at FIT - the program is amazing!

Haven't checked the whole thread, but has anyone gone to/goes to/know someone who went or goes to Columbia College of Chicago?

http://www.colum.edu/

I'm very interested, because it offers fashion merchandising, theater arts, and film- and though I am not certain what I want to do with my life, I know it will be something related to the arts in some way, shape, or form. But the average high school GPA of their students was a 2.90- laughable in my high stakes school (I have a 3.8, which is laughable to most of the people I know!). Perhaps that is just because most of the students have talent, so grades aren't a huge factor.

The low GPA has nothing to do with talent...it's because Columbia College Chicago has open admissions and admits everyone who applies, no portoflio/auditioning required! I'm a fashion merchandising student here. Because of the open admissions policy you get a lot of lazy/untalented people but generally they get weeded out early. The school is great for networking and all the oppurtunities you get for being in Chicago (which are pretty close to nothing if you're in fashion), but otherwise the academic quality of the courses here are laughable and the students sway towards being really obnoxiously pretentious without warrent for it.

The like the fashion merchandising program. It offers a wide array of courses and allows you to tailor the major to your interests (in my case, fashion journalism).

^ Thanks! :flower:

Fashion Merchandising programs are pretty rare, especially at four year colleges in major cities, so I was elated to find a college that offered the three majors I'm looking at the moment.

Do you guys have a study abroad program? If so, is it any good?

:flower: No problem! I don't know much about the study abroad programs, but I do know the fashion merchandising program has a semester in L.A program for costume design...

I should mention that it's nearly impossible to double major at this school, so you'll have to pick one you're interested in!
