What do you think of the Scion? We can't buy them in Canada yet, although there are a few imported ones of course. I've had my eye on them for a while now, I think they are really cute!

I really like it. It's not as fast as my previous cars, but it's still peppy on both street and highway...and it will definitely do 80MPH or more. :innocent:

It gets a ton of looks, mostly smiles and thumbs up, so if you do get one prepare to get noticed. The gas mileage is awesome, I get about 30 mpg on the highway and probably about 28 or so on the street. I have over 13k mile on her now and have had no trouble whatsoever mechanically or physically with the car. The rear seats fold down for storage...I could ramble on and on, hehe. If you want more info, please feel free to pm me! :flower:

I don't drive... never did and never will.. They pollute way too much...and are responsible for the terrible climatic instabilities....

Yeah but they are also necessity for a lot of people. I have two full size suv's but I avoid driving them unless I have to I have 2 kids. So whenever I go somewhere by myself or with just one of them I use my mazda which has very good gas milage. But Then again these cars pay the bills because we have a shop that sells aftermarket parts.

It seems rather naive to say that cars are 'responsible' for climatic instability. There are many other factors that have contributed to the rapid climate change coming into effect now. Factories are the largest problem - there are many regulations in place but unfortunately adequate inspections are not being done.

What has contributed to current climate change is not cars being driven today - emissions inspections have become stringent enough to bring this into check in most areas of the world. What has affected current climate change is, yes, cars from the 70's when there were little to no regulation on emissions, but as the world rebuilt following world war two right through to the 80's large corporations polluted to their heart's content as politicians looked the other way simply because the economy was being driven out of recession. :flower:

Well, that's my two cents ... just felt like I had to pipe up and defend cars, since it is a car thread and all ... ;)

Is there anywhere where you live where people race theirs cars and do burn outs and stuff/ we have a great place here and a few hundred people meet late on a thursday friday and sat night to watch races. I love it cos everyone is just so friendly towards each other and everyone cheers each other on all the time..

People are trying to get me to race but i'm scared
Does anyone race?

Yeah we have route 66 where I live and there are a couple of ther track where you can run 1/4 miles. A big thing around here though is autocross or solo2. It's cheap and anyone with almost any car can do it.

2006 Jeep Liberty in "light khaki"... got it at a great price a couple weeks ago after my brother totaled my 2000 Honda Crv

I live pretty close to Infineon Raceway (formally Sear's Point), so when I got the urge, I took my car out there on Wednesday nights. I don't take my xB out there, I'd get laughed at, hehe. I don't street race...it's not safe and definitely not worth the consequences.

no street racing at the very least if you get caught they take your car away! No thanks. I've known a couple people who died doing it too. Around here that police have found their spots and they flood them every weekend.

i dont know if i will god knows i want to lol
Yeah its mainly just burn outs- i love it its really exciting at our place hehe

and the occasional time we get a remote control car doing little burnouts so its all in good fun

That I know already... so car drivers cannot be blamed? Let me remind you that cars are responsible of around 27% of the climatic changes.... People are dependant to cars even if we're killing ourselves (climatic instabilities like hurricanes, destroying our forests, animals, floods)! Yes, companies are to blame, but irresponsible individuals as well..! ;)

That's pretty silly considering the price of tires.
