try to ask ur fashion school if u can volunteer at the shows, or u can just call 7th on 6th and ask if u can volunteer. Thats a good way to do it.

I have a friend in Paris who's in Duperre and for every fashion week (in Paris) they have job such as "habilleur" - you dress the models.

hehe. you have to take yourself a bit seriously if you wanna go from seat in G to seat in A.:D... Everyone is taking themselves so seriously that I'm pretty sure they can do it for you.

question: is it a no no to wear a spring or resort look for fall fashion week if it's hot? (and if it's not a past-its-date trendy look)

you know what? you can wear what you want if it's your style. But you have to feel confident & confortable!

totally

i never like think about what i wear during the shows, never 'organise' things beforehand, i just dress the way i always do, dropping in most of my new season items and have the usual mix, its not such a big deal what one wears

btw, not too many people wear Hermes in Paris, its the tourists (Japan/usa) that wear Hermes, not the fashion people like editors, journalists or stylists.

no, i wont..
i only do Paris (and ages ago i did Milan)
not even sure i'll have the time to make it in Paris this time around..

lazy me, i find it much more 'easy' and hassle free to browse the collections on the web

a lot less glamourous :(

well...lena, if i had the luxury of choosing...paris would be my 1st choice

i'm sure it is actually easier to see the clothes in pictures than at the shows, unless you are in the front row every time...and that wouldn't be me so...if i were a veteran i might do as you do.

^ wise words, boring and tiring and sometimes not even worth it .. but anyway, lets go back on topic

one thing i would totally avoid to wear this season is all black :ninja:

yeah, i know i'm going there to work...and generally i am a realistic person and do not have delusions of sipping champagne all day and being whisked inside since i have an invite...

but about the all black...why? is it that everyone was doing it last season for the shows? does it look...last season?

is it alright to wear black skinny pants with a sheerish black top...or no? not a problem as i don't have any all black looks so far..but i do have a lot of black in my wardrobe. and neutrals.

sounds good softie. Sounds like outfits that you can get stuff done in as well which is important and not be so conscious of everything not working. LOVE the pin  It's truly beautiful. how do you plan on wearing it? I know you meantioned the avh jacket but where on the jacket?

thanks m'dear...
yes- you got it...
i don't want to have to think about what i am wearing at all..
i will have enough to deal with as it is...

so- here is how i will wear the pin on the jkt...
IF i wear it...
i am really enjoying NO ACCESSORIES....
so we'll see...
* i may just put that pin away and save it for later...

its a personal thing for me, since every shop is full of all black garments and i find this deperessing, i guess you can wear what you want.. if you feel that all black is right for you, go wear it, why not?
anyway, like you said, if one is not a graduate, a 'lady-who-lunches or a fashion victim, its all about 'work' ..

people dont 'do' the shows to show off, to socialise or to have fun, the calendar schedules are long, packed and tiring, one needs to fell comfortable and functional through out a whole day

softie  that looks amazing. I love love love avh and the pin works perfectly with that jacket. it looks like it's crawling on it. So perfect. Could work with an evening gown as much as it could with jeans. Truly versatile.

wow soft, you have incredible taste. you must make an excellent stylist.

i loooooove avh. do you know of anywhere to get it in nyc other than via bus stop? (i apologize for my ignorance...and off topic question  )

thanks very much......

i agree meg- very versatile...
it basically goes with every single outfit i might wear--
so i can easily throw it on any day if it's a bit chilly...
easy peasy--a total no brainer...
i did want to try it with jeans..cause i love that idea---
but it just isn't 'me'...so i wouldn't be comfortable and so i decided to pass on the jeans....:P

**elschic -got it at esthete in the meatpacking district...next door to a store called poleci...i think you might like poleci actually...
