softgrey, you (and the sartorialist, whose blog i am quite addicted to) are going to look amazing!

i am having so much trouble piecing together outfits...(most of the ones i came up with are not coming together--the shoes didn't look right with the dresses; i broke a pair of shoes last week ...and i'm not in new york. (if i was...the shopping would be a piece of cake!). wish me luck as i snap up everything i can get my hands on in dc and try to have it tailored extensively in like 5 days!

uh---hitch a ride on what...my broomstick?.....

so- i have tried on many things...
and it looks like my uniform will be this..
babydoll dress with the wedges...
*yes they really go with EVERYTHING-it's shocking...
if it's cool enough, i may wear tights...
and depending on the weather-
either an ivory cropped av hash jkt or the long lanvin...

fendi bag...

keeping it simple and comfortable...and cute..

sounds good softie. Sounds like outfits that you can get stuff done in as well which is important and not be so conscious of everything not working. LOVE the pin  It's truly beautiful. how do you plan on wearing it? I know you meantioned the avh jacket but where on the jacket?

I was a bit disappointed with the sartorialist thing to be honest. I love the sartorialist but the shopping thing just felt....odd. Not contrived but just....I didn't really care. I'll be excited to see his coverage of fashion week though.

Usually I don't, but then I rarely by clothes so it's never been an issue I've thought about. I'm 6'3" and a half with a 31/32 waist so it does become a bit troublesome. This particular pant came up a bit short on me but I decided to rock them that way anyways, they were of course on sale.

I don't have an option to have custom pants made due to a lack of places in my area (Ohio) and costs (I'm very poor).

M, I believe you can find someone in Ohio near you to make pants for you. Try Craigslist, and I'm sure Ohio prices are lower than New Yorks!:flower:

Hey Softie, did you see The Satorialists blog calling Copper Anderson a b*tch??? Absolutly fabulous! He bought the same suit from Ralph!
Sorry I don't now how to link it:(

what I can say is :

-never wear a total look, you're def. not Beyonce or whoever the star is!
for instance : if on the day you're planning to sit, it's the Louis Vuitton show do not wear Louis Vuitton previous collection on you! (a bag or shoe is enough!)
-check the "meteo" the day before
-always good represent the magazine you're working for (if you are a freelance...well it's different!)

I'm just giving one or 2 items

*for NYC :
day 1 : short, tshirt worn under a XXL shirt (I'm really into this mix at the moment sorry) and Chloe shoe. something very casual & trendy.
day 2 : V&R (look 2 or dress look 23)
day 3 : Balenciaga (look 14 - it would be perfect for Paris - vest in look 34 - perfect for Paris, too) or Lanvin (look 30)
day 4 : Giles Deacon (look 3) or Burberry (top in look 28 w/ a pair of jeans)

etc.

*for Milan - anything bitchy!! ahahahah

*for Paris :
day 1 : Burberry (look 20) or Chanel (look 35 - honestly you have to feel confident to wear it!)
day 2 : Preen (anything!) or Hermes (look 12 the little fur cape... with a pair of jeans! otherwise it's too too much!)
day 3 : some Balenciaga!
day 4 : YSL (look 11, 18, 24 - well I don't know for this one but the top is great - look 30 would be great for a party!)

etc.

for bags : anything from Marc Jacobs, MiuMiu, Chloe, Chanel. well the trendy bags! you'll need Hermes for paris (now even 18yrs old girls have one!)
for shoes : if you're a girl no flipflops in Paris neither in Milan!!!!!

all looks are from style.com and sometimes it's just "the look" or an item (trousers, skirt etc.) I don't know your everyday style so these are just examples...but that's what i would wear if I were a girl in FWs with a Platinium

question: is it a no no to wear a spring or resort look for fall fashion week if it's hot? (and if it's not a past-its-date trendy look)

ill just be wearing my CHLOE Scintilla wedges

the rest to be confirmed

I don't want to sound stupid but how do you get into fashion shows when you are still a student? Who do you contact?

try to ask ur fashion school if u can volunteer at the shows, or u can just call 7th on 6th and ask if u can volunteer. Thats a good way to do it.
