I'm having trouble finding a dress for prom. The theme is "Paris" and I was wondering what you guys think of this dress; is it "dressy" enough for prom, wrong style, etc.?

tres chic the dress is fine..but the ribbon looks cheap..I'd replace it with a grossgrain (sp?) ribbon or something in a better quality..and the pearls look bad as well..I'd replace them with some from a vintage shop.

I had a look at several prom dress sites..and boy oh boy..why do the dresses look just as ugly as they did back in 1990 ?..On the other hand I've seen a few sites w. brides maids dresses..and they have improved considerably..if I was going to a prom (yeah right..I'm 30 ) I think I'd get a dress-maker to make a dress for me..or actually go in a bridesmaids dress.. if not a tux
