White & Green tea

i drink green tea first thing in the morning before breakfast and i have never fainted. i guess it all depends on the person.

I do the exact same thing! I have a tall glass of it as soon as I wake up every morning, I've never fainted either. Quite opposite actually, wakes me up and makes me feel great!

I love Green tea. I drink rougly 5-6 cups a day, I think the caffiene has made me completely addicted  But I can't help it! I love the taste, hahaha.

I got some Gen Mai Cha green tea since I happened to spot it in the store. I think I like it better than the green tea I usually have and I can see (or more like smell) why it's called popcorn tea.

Whole foods has a nice little selection of white and green loose leaf tea. I used to buy these huge boxes (100 bags) of white tea from Marshall's, then drink like ten cups when on days my skin looked bad. Theyre always out of stock now, though, I guess other people caught on! :D Hee.

i tried white tea in an asian restaurant once and it basically tasted like water, only more bitter:S

also a waiter at another restaurant once told me to never drink green tea on an empty stomach, as its rly unhealthy and u could faint. Is there any truth to this? Cuz ive done it loads of times and nothings ever happened to me!!

I've never fainted, but I have often felt nauseous after drinking green tea on an empty stomach.

I drink white/green tea every evening or when i've just finished a meal i heard it's quite good for digestion.

I started drinking green tea 10 days ago.I drink it 2-3 times a day.At first I didn't like the taste, but now it ok.

My friends said that the girls in Beijing stay so slim because they drink hot tea all the time even the food is really greasy. Not exactly scientific, but it definitely does cut the grease from the food in your mouth. And who knows maybe there are other benefits, I don't mind!

I heard that it's very good for cutting grease too.

what does "cutting" grease mean? are you saying that green tea makes it so your body body absorbs less of the grease in the food?

Well that's what I heard. By "cutting grease" I mean when I eat greasy food and get the aftertaste of oil or grease in my mouth I drink green tea to get rid of that taste.

I heard that kills toxines and grease in your body, that is good for celulite.

yeah I heard about the toxines too ....but the grease...I cant really imagine...would be quite good if it was true though

this conversation reminds me of yum cha; people say they serve tea there 'cos it counteracts the grease from all those delicious, little fried dumplings. but it is a cultural thing, that's for sure...

anyways, the tea they serve there is the one i have at home; it's green tea with jasmine flowers (or good ol' jasmine tea). it's cheap and, in my opinion, the best. there's no need to add anything to it; just pop a little in a tea pot with some hot water and bob's your uncle. for anyone interested, the brand is sunflower, it comes in a yellow tin and is called jasmine tea/thé au jasmine.

I love green tea too, and yes it's supposed to fight cancer. I find it very relaxing.

I also love green tea, and reading about the health benefits of drinking it is wonderful to say the least.

At the moment I use Clipper green tea. Is there any other brand that's known to be more potent or simply better?
Also would love to try Matcha but have no idea how to get hold of some. Suggestions?

I want to replace my caffeine intake with green tea for a month. See what happens. I have made a toner that I store in the fridge with strongly brewed green tea, about 3 to 4 bags, add 50% to a spray bottle, add equal parts distilled water and then an essential oil if you're not overly sensitive, but mine has witch hazel in it. You could add lavender oil, chamomile, any oil really. It's terrific.

^ I like the sound of that.

Although, a month or so ago I did try using frozen teabags directly on my skin. The teabags were 'Tension tamers' that supposedly had lots of natural plant extracts in so thought it'd be interesting to try. Bad idea. It made my skin feel like sandpaper and look horrible - I had to scrub off dead skin and moisturise intensely for days.

I always wonder why you can't just empty the teabags of the green tea and consume it for more potency - is it because it has to reach temperatures of 80 degrees for the right chemicals to be released which wouldn't be possible in the human body?
