White & Green tea

^Matcha is ground green tea leaves. You can just drink that if you wanted to or eat a lot of green tea ice cream, rather than trying to eat tea leaves, which are rough and taste not so great. That's some serious roughage.

Matcha you can buy online, and also at most speciality tea shops, or at an East Asian grocer. Whole foods and health food stores might have it too.

Q: Do you have any beauty secrets?
A: I drink Chinese kung fu ceremonial tea, I don’t drink alcohol and I use different moisturisers to see which one is the best.

I believe it's just green tea but prepared in a special way. Green tea should suffice

^I see your in Wales and I know there were a lot of speciality shops that had this in London, so it's not much help if you're not near but if you're there you could pick up loads! I even tried to make green tea ice cream with matcha (total disaster, ha). It's kind of an acquired taste, sort of bitter a little metallic.

I have no idea what Sasha is even talking about??? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fujian_tea_ceremony
According to that, its just oolong or pu-erh tea. Maybe it's a brand?

I highly doubt the ceremonial aspects of it though, unless Sasha found pure sweet spring water to boil in a clay pot.

Haha, I wish I was extravagant enough to take a trip to London simply to buy matcha, now that'd be fantastic! Next time I'm there I'll remember to look for some, though I don't know when that'll be.
And I've always thought the taste of normal green tea was metallic and I love it so hopefully I'll like matcha even more so
Started drinking it for health benefits, now drink for pleasure too. Great stuff.
& I love the idea of matcha ice cream, sounds delicious. Maybe you'll have better luck making it next time?

I want to replace my caffeine intake with green tea for a month. See what happens. I have made a toner that I store in the fridge with strongly brewed green tea, about 3 to 4 bags, add 50% to a spray bottle, add equal parts distilled water and then an essential oil if you're not overly sensitive, but mine has witch hazel in it. You could add lavender oil, chamomile, any oil really. It's terrific.

sounds great  where do u get distilled water? would this toner be good enough if I don't add any oil there?

ps: I tried to substitute my caffeine intake with tea before and no luck, so I'm now replacing my usual coffee with decaffeinated one

I like green tea, but not really the white tea, it's like it has no taste and reminds me cammomile tea that I hate
I should have more green tea, it's v good for health, skin etc.

Well I buy it for .89 cents at a grocery store in a gallon. And yes it would be fine to use without any oil...mine is 50% distilled water, 50% strongly brewed green tea, and then a tablespoon, give or take, of witch hazel. Great to keep in the fridge and use whenever you're overheated. :flower:

I'm obsessed with green tea. I love how it's gained popularity, because now in stores there are so many different varieties. Right now I'm drinking green tea with chamomile and honey. I love love green tea with goji and pomegranite too....so many antioxidants it's crazy!

cool thanks! :D
I like the idea of home-made toners as they do not contain any chemicals and artificial things etc.
I'm not sure they sell it at the grocery stores here, but I'll do some search

OMG I love differently flavored green tea, especially the ones with soursoup, really tasty. The strawberry-cream is good too :P

I'm currently having my first cup of green tea. I don't think I let it sit long enough though, since the taste is a little different. Haha, I'm sure I'll get used to it with time.

^^ haha yeah sometimes it's hard to love the 'different' flavour of hot green tea but the cold bottles with light natural flavouring are so delish!!

I've been drinking green tea for ages and I still don't like it when its brewed for too long,I find it wayyy too bitter. Green tea and cranberry is nice

I bought yesterday green tea citrus fruit. Haven't tried yet, since it's hot hot hot now, and i enjoy ice tea only from the bottle! I know...

What do you mean by that? Is there green tea cranberry flavoured or you add juice? Or you eat fruits with it? Silly question i know, but i love cranberry and green tea so i would like to know!

There is a brand of flavoured green teas, one of which is Green tea+Cranberry. The company is Twinings, which I think sell all over the world

Green tea and pommegranite is really nice, but I've only seen it in Japan. Does it exist anywhere else?

(o.O my first post)

Hiiii everyone! this is such a good thread. I dont know if anyone already asked about this... forgive me if doubled. I was just wondering..cos my friends told me that not everyone could drink white/green tea( btw isnt white tea part of the green tea family?), for some people their body cant take this and will have harm effect. I m thinking about going to see chinese doctors and get some opinions....

If anyone has more information on this I'd be really appreciated. thanks
