Who Is Your Fashion & Style Icon?

oh patrick wolf is a good one; i saw him play a couple of months ago and he wore this amazing squid-like plastic crown and a barechest and tons of glitter.
so genius.

and SHSH, completely agree with you; those two are pretty much my favourite guys in terms of style.

I've thought really hard trying to determine who my real style/fashion icons are as I tend to feel very affected by people who actually create style rather than carry it for the most part.. I don't know if there's any sense or higher/lesser validity in any of the two as dressing for yourself is be purely personal whereas the job of a stylist is often affected by external elements (publications, trends, etc) and certainly bound to end up on a page/window rather than on their own body, but I guess it's their vision what I respect and what I feel drawn to the most.. they definitely don't affect me in a way that I feel like immitating them in some degree.. because there's little I can immitate :p, but I do see them as an obsessive force that is both inspiring and liberating to look up to.. so.. in that department, Panos Yiapanis would be very much my icon to follow.. I love everything that he touches, how personal and consistent he is to his own ideas and obviously the traces of poetry in his work..

on the other hand, speaking of people who actually wear their ideas.. Charlotte Rampling is the only person I can think of at the moment.. every one of her pictures.. from those in her late teens to those in her 60s.. they're very much a class act and an example of dressing (or undressing!) with dignity, and aging gracefully, too. -_-

Brook Shields in the blue Lagoon, Blair and serena in gossip girl, Grace Kelly, Baroc style, and random street style!:)

I know it's very cliche, but I adore Mary-Kate Olsen and Nicole Richie for my every-day looks. For my eccentric moods, I admire Raquel Reed for her versatile style, attention to color and that "!!!!" factor.

My style icon is David Beckham. Because he wears a pair a jeans every single day with the exact same belt 'n' shoes and he wears them with confidence as if he was wearing a suit.

I like his taste because he likes clothes that look like they have been worn in. Hence why he wears the same belt and shoes with a pair of distressed jeans 80% of the time.

The absolute BEST thing about David Beckham is that he is never over dressed and never underdressed. And he sure knows how to wear a suit.

Oh I adore Charlotte. I'll add Julie Christie, another English beauty  She lives by her own terms, and is still beautiful.

They are not icons but more like inspirations from which I stem my personal style from.

:flower:

i don't have real fashion-icons but i get inspired by nearly everyone i see!

My main style icon would probably be a girl i was friends with at uni and that now lives in London. She taught me everything i know about style just from watching what she wore.

then probably: French actresses and fashion editors, Street style found by people watching, Erin wasson, Kate Moss, Drew Barrymore's 90's film characters
