who makes that coat? and boots for that matter?
Burlington Coat Factory is always nice.
They have great coats for low prices.
I don't know if you are from USA, though.
This is such a great website to shop for coats with good deals
I think part of what we're talking about here is the ethics of consumerism ...
I believe the choices we make as individuals, even and perhaps especially how we spend our money, are very powerful. Reading through tFS, you can see a wide variety of choices people are making, and few of us are 'perfect' ... whatever that may be.
Buying at the higher end often has social value, as often (not always, I'm sure) the people who make the goods have better working conditions and wages--some of the Italian workshops sound quite idyllic, in fact!
My own view is that I want to think about the bigger picture, and not assume that being relatively well off (in terms of the country where I live and the world) entitles me to anything I can lay my hot little hands on
There's this lovely little mom and pop restaurant with a lunch buffet where I go sometimes, and it has a little sign that says "Please, take only what you will eat." For me, the world has a sign that says "Please, take only what you will use." So that's what I try to do. And when I do buy something, I try to make sure I've chosen something that will last, and that was created in the best way possible. Not only is it much friendlier to the planet when I buy something that will last (like my Burberry trench--22 years now I believe!), but it's respectful of my time. I've taken the time to choose something I really liked, and I don't want my time to be wasted.
That's how I see the world ... but I realize not everyone is going to see it the same.
