Worst Makeup Mistakes!

I had a friend in high school who used to cake the foundation on and it was totally too pale for her. She always had this slight line around her chin where she never blended. Must have been a security blanket for her or something, 'coz her skin was actually pretty decent. Oh well.

Mistakes I've made:

- way too much eyeliner ('goth' phase)
- electric blue mascara ( ... I don't even know)
- shimmer, glitter, fake butterfly tattoos (I looked like a disco ball!)
- light purple lipstick (dead looking lips, ohhh yeah)

Speaking of purple, I wore purple lipstick when I was in high school. It was kind of flattering in person, but I don't like how it looks in pictures at all. That's why now I stick to pink and red.

there this girl who wears a lot of foundation..i can even tell non high quality pictures! gross. anyways its too light and she puts it all over her face except her forehead but her forehead is darker because that usually the area of the face that tans the most. so the bottom part of her face from eyes down is super light and her forehead is brown. even worse is that she has a pretty strong chin/jaw area and small forehead & tiny eyes, the makeup only makes it more obvious!

You reminded me...

On the track team in the 8th grade it was cool to wear silver lipstick. I know it sounds ridiculous... but it was what our team did. Not everybody, but the "cool" girls...

speaking of purple lip gloss. i miss that! i used to wear a mauvey pinky/purple shade called "Cultured" in highschool, i think its all about getting the right shade for your coloring. im cool/fair(usually stick to pinks) so the lipgloss actually made my teeth look whiter and turned out nice in photos. aww now i kinda want to repurchase it because its perfect for spring but i dont really like MAC lipglasses because they are too sticky/dry out my lips..if only they made it in lustreglass.

and continuing with worst makeup mistakes..

* when people wear heavy lipstick or gloopy lipgloss over dry/crusty/flakey lips! just get some lip chap or let your lips breathe for one day so they can heal!

* filling in eyebrows with drastically different color from what it is naturally or something that doesnt remotely match the hair on your head..oo jeezus

* drawing stars or whatever on your face..unless you can still shop at Limited Too, you are probably too old for this!

 both of those are horrible!

mistakes i made>

wrong make up color [when i used make up for the 1st time xD]
thick black line around my eyes [yay for avril lavigne boom at that time , ^^;;]
wrong colors /... a lot of them

but as i have been growing up i managed to get rid of these mistakes.

but now what makes me scared, and i see it on the streets almost daily>

a lot of color on the cheeks

very bright red color or any color that is just drawing attention during the bright sunny day [ and many layers of it .. just dont do that, you are not a clawn]

blue eyeshadow
eyes and lips > choose one, dont make both standing out.

goth makeup during the day

shaky line around lips [i dont like that either but shaky lines make it even worse] or eyes

a lof of makeup during the summer [excuse me, your face is melting ...]

people who use autobronzant cream [ i dont know , how do you call it exactly in english, but i hope you know what i mean..] and dont know how to use it. so it leaves a lot of places with different color. esp on the face.

and i really dont like, when people wears something on their face which does not suits them at all, but because it is popular they do it. it is understandable in young age but later? no. i dont think so... :/

...to be continued [probably]

The worst makeup mistake you can make, is ruining your brows. Ugly brows can ruin a beautiful face / make a ugly face a bit prettier.
The worst kind of brow mistake i have ever seen, looks like this.

And it is REALLY bad!

I hate when people pluck their eyebrows so that it is barely visible and they have to DRAW on it to make it look like it exists.

does keeping makeup when its been all used up count? i decided to sort out my makeup draw last night and threw out

  • 7 pressed powders which where empty
  • 10 concealers which where just chucked in there also empty
  • i couldnt bare to count all the dried up mascaras i threw out
  • about 5 bottles of different foundations which had been used up or left because they were such a bad colour or texture
  • along with some bad eyeshadows and lipsticks
that was abit of a confession although i would like to say i never used any of these anymore they were just left in my draw :innocent:

if I did clean up I'd probably find lots of stuff like that too! dried up mascaras before all... I just can't throw them away so I store them even if I know I'm never gonna use them again

Well,I have to admit that I do exactly the same thing! In my makeup draw there are dozens of mascaras and concealers, which I haven't used since at least 2 years!I just can't throw them away and I still wonder why...

i go through my makeup bag monthly and i toss without looking back.

cause i do makeup, i have so much crap i never get to really use, and most of it i buy cause im like "oh i might use this for so and so" but it ends up drying out.

i have this amazing (had) chanel vamp mascara, the color looked gorgeous, but i hadn't used it but once on a redhead, then i used it twice. the thing dried out, i was sad.

i think that once you realize the amount of bacterias growing in those mascara wands, the potted concealer with your fingers being dabbed many times, then kept sealed for months or years, you'll dump it right out with no thought of regret. its gross actually.

i had gone through this makeup bag i forgot i had in the back of my closet, back when i used to wear my balenciaga bag, and i found some beat up lipbalm, covered in cigarettes, and the thing smelled like death. DEATH. ugh it was horrible...

but yeah, i think some of the mistakes mentioned here can be sorta acceptable, in certain cases.

like, too much blush can be cute if its a very neutral eye and lip look.

the purple lipstick is gorgeous, dabbed out a bit in the center is excellent cause it looks like you've been eating berries.

drawn in brows are a very daring look, and it can be done quite tastefully, again, if the look is suitable. think about those big dark brows in chanel a few seasons ago...

the only un acceptable one is the horrible crack head eyebrows. you can have the most gorgeous face but with brows like that, girl, i'll stare at them like if they were a freak mole between your eyes.

^What are crack head eyebrows?!

I think one of the worst things is when people put too much foundation/concealer on a slightly dry pimple so it makes it even more obvious theres a pimple

yeah I'm guilty with keeping old makeup too...I usually don't throw it away until it's empty or looks like it has a small ecosystem growing on it. lol

My biggest pet peeves:

thin brows
over-tanning
caked on powder and foundation
unblended eyeshadow
tons of eyeliner only on the bottom waterline

^^I agree about the over tanning. Some people who just use spray tan look like oranges to me. Its really grose, I can't believe they would think thats attractive.
