it might be true that asian hair has red pigments b/c my hair always turns reddish no matter what. i also heard that red is the hardest color to get rid of in hair. i just dyed my hair chocolate brown, but i might have to redye a couple more time b/c i know it will fade. it looks lovely and my hairs looking healthier than ever.

i'm asian, and haven't had uncoloured hair for many years now =)

So it depends on your natural colouring; even Asians differ a lot in their colour tone - are you a warm colour tone (reddish, olive, darkish), and cool ("blue"-toned), or have a lot of yellow in your skin? You will know what colours in your wardrobe work best on your skin - go find out what hair colours look best on you too.

I read somewhere that olive is considered cool because it has a blue undertone. What color do you recommend for someone with light-medium olive/golden skin?

i am strongly against asians dying their hair...
unless it's BLUE...^_^

i think alot of vietmanese girls look better with light brown or blonde hair, as long as it isnt over done.....i dont know why..

Stay to darker colours like dark brown/red, or get some red streaks on black hair.
I don't like blonde or light brown on asians except if they really suit it and if they re-dye it every single month! black regrowths with light hair... ugh. That's just my opinion though :flower:

I'm asian and I've dyed my hair several times ( just brownish) and I keep dying it black again cos I hate the regrowth! And I look better with black hair anyways ^_^

i dunno about blonde:huh: ....i personally would never go blonde and have never seen a viet girl that looked good blonde....i'd go orange(mk olsen's old color) before i go blonde. but i do think most asians look best with chocolate brown or black. it depends on the cut and your personal style too. some ppl can pull off what others cannot.

not too blonde, ive seen alot of pure platinum blonde and it wasnt good, im really not sure what im talking about anymore hahhaha

I *hate* it when asians dye their hair. My sister went through a stage where she did blonde, and I was like I hate it!! I think it looks trashy, a little lightening to a deep red or blue I don't mind, but like blonde or rusty brown, i think it looks gross. Embrace your asian features! We're blessed with thick shiny black hair, why ruin it?

I agree that I love it when people have their natural hair.. sleek black and shiny.. but some asians actually look great with brown hair IMO.. maybe even brownish-red.. but blonde.. I agree.. looks really trashy.... they make the girls look like p*rn stars!! there I said it! lol.

well even viet girls differ a lot in their hair tone. I have these weird natural red highlights so for a while I had red chunks in my hiar, it looked relaly good, except it was not very fun to keep up. The older I get, the more toward DARK brownish reddish it goes. My sister looks great with brown highlights, but it looks bad on me.

And if you're Asian, and you bleach you hair to get it to a lighter color...it never grows back JET black...so consider that when thinking about dying it. I wish someone would have told me.
