Has a celebrity influenced your wardrobe?

I don't think celebs really influence what i wear. I wear what I like and makes me feel good and enjoy having my own sense of style. I definately do not hesitate to say I feel what a celeb is wearing is ugly or on the other hand I may like it.

If I see something on a celebrity that I think looks absolutely fabulous, I might think about how to personalize that kind of look for myself (in an affordable way, too). That goes for anyone I see, though, not just celebrities, and I certainly wouldn't be influenced just because of a famous wearer. In fact, even if I liked the look, I would be wary of copying exactly to avoid looking exactly like a clone or buying into a trend that I'll get sick of quickly. It's all about my own personal style and taste. :flower:

some celebs to influence my wardrobe--i actually started liking studs because of Ashley and MK, and Lou D. is very casual, quirky, etc. I like to bring parts of their style to my own.

I can't really say they really do since anyone whose style I like in the first place wears things I would like whether they wore it or not. Sometimes they give me ideas though, but then again so do "regular" people who I find well dressed as well as some bloggers. And sometimes they make an item more appealing than a less interesting person manages to.

I think that Pat Field's styling on SATC has influenced me somewhat. When I was in college and started watching the show, I started realizing that I wanted to take risks with my clothes like Carrie did, and even if I looked silly sometimes, it still made me stand out and people noticed that. I really have taken the whole mix of vintage/high/low to heart.

There is a small number of celebrities whose style I find interesting but never to the point that I would try to copy it. I find street style and individual fashion blogs far more inspiring.

kate moss, sienna miller, david bowie, glam rock, brit pop, shirley manson...
i am not copying anyone though i have some stuff that i saw on sienna or kate. i am not ashamed to admit that i have my style gurus, but i am not following any trend, i am not obsessed with labels, trendy colors and stuff like that...

not one celebrity, but I think since I'm looking at celebrity style and streetstyle on the internet I wear things I wouldnt wear if I had no internet. Because I live in a small town with boring stores. Now I see things on the internet that I like and I go looking for them.

Actually Gwyneth Paltrow influenced my wardrobe a lot..I go buy simple, classic but sexy things by the influence of Gwyneth..The other things in my wardrobe are all the things that i love and pick by influence of myself :D
I have many celebrities that i loved their style but most of the pieces that they wear don't define my style though all of them look great when they wear those clothes...

It's been a long time since I wanted something just because a celeb wore it. I think anyone truly interested in style outgrows that kind of imitation pretty fast. I am still influenced by a few celebs but it's more in terms of styling than what they're wearing. Like they'll wear something with boots that I never would've tried, and they'll roll the sleeves up. Those are the things that influence me.

Okay ill be the first to actual name a name.

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen really got me started into learning how to dress well. Im young and more in their age group so i can relate to their style.

I learned a few things:
1)I actually understood how minimalism can be effective.
2)Basics are the foundation of a great wardrobe.
3)Fit can make a difference in how you look.
4) Black and white are flattering on everyone!

and of course unrelated fashionwise,,

5) Dont be an attention wh*re.*blocks face from paparazzi*

I know all of this could be thought by anyone but Mk and Ashley made it look effortless and personal.

Theyve honestly upped my taste and personal style.

I take my style advice from Bai Ling + Margaret Cho + Kimora.

can't go wrong with that!

Liv Tyler - my first style icon   I love how pieced together she looked back when I first started to love her, and developed my staple outfit of dark denim jeans, silky black top & ballet flats from her inspiration, lol.

Kate Bosworth also fed my love for Chloe pieces :crush:

Amanda Hearst has definitely been a big influence in the past year and so has Leighton Meester as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl.

Firstly i tend to be inspired by celebrity dressing rather than influenced.
Mary Kate Olsen's style has defiantly made me feel more ok about playing around with different pieces that wouldn't normally look good together.
But my main inspiration comes from Blair Waldorf of gossip girl ( i know she isn't technically a celebrity, but a fictional charecter! )
Since finding my true style a couple of years ago i have dressed quite preppy, but in a quirky fun way, (more silk blouses with peter pan colors that ralph lauren polos)
and i do often watch gossip girl and think, 'that looks great!' like wearing cute ankle socks with a dress or wearing even larger bows in my hair than usual!
I would never completely copy a celebrities look but i think it's great to get inspiration from them!

i don't like it when people suddenly want something simply because celebrity x or y has it, but i think it's cool if people are able to discover something that they like or that resonates with them on someone else... i don't think it's something to be embarrassed about..

i think it happens all the time and from sources or in ways that we don't even realise... ideas and inspirations are recycled and reused all the time... it's that whole everything old is new again cycle... we're all influenced by something at the end of the day.. and sure i guess some of us believe it is somehow more noble or dignified to be inspired by x rather than y but the bottom line is that it's inspiration, right?...

i'm not ashamed to admit that people in the public eye have 'influenced' my style.. i dont know if influenced is the right word because it's been a long time since i adored a celebrity enough to want something simply because they had it.... but i have definitely seen pieces and/or looks worn by celebrities and thought 'oh i'd love something similar...' or 'i love the way that's styled..'.

i think little elements from lots of people have influenced my style, and it really has nothing to do with the person and everything to do with seeing something that speaks to me.. it could be on a celebrity or in a movie or in a dream or an image in a song.. i don't think one is better than the other..

ashley olsen...for example :innocent: wide belts and big scarves..

I wish I could look as pulled together as SJP and Dita von Teese. I mean yeah they have a team of people to help them, but I like their style as well and the fact that their style is so flattering to their respective body types. ...and I will admit my lingerie collection has gotten prettier since I started paying attention to Dita

I also like Emmanuelle Alt's moody, rocker-chick, dark, polished look, but I don't think she has influenced my wardrobe (yet, ha ha)

Oh yes! Mary-Kate + Ashley have completely influenced my style. As well as Vanessa Traina + Emmanuelle Alt
