Has a celebrity influenced your wardrobe?

Mary Kate and Ashley, definitely.

I remember when I was about 16/17 and began really getting interested in fashion. I subscribed to vogue and spent hours looking at pictures and researching fashion online. Although, I suppose more than 'fashion' I was trying to develop my eye for style.

I loved looking at Mary Kate and Ashley and really admired their style.

I remember how people at school would make comments about how 'boring' my clothes were and how I should really try harder to follow fashion, which upset me as I knew that I was far more dedicated than they were and knew much more about the intricacies of style. But I could see where they were coming from. Whereas my friends would be clad head-to-toe in Topshop, I would go for simple items, very non-trendy. But I guess I didnt understand how to make my outfits that little bit more special, and so seeing Mary Kate and Ashley really helped me develop my 'simple' style into something a little more interesting, without turning into a trend-wh*re!

Probably Mary Kate Olsen when I was younger, I'm not sure if any clebrities inspire me now though. If anything, Kate Moss?

Just for the record, I'm telling the truth when I answer this question no  It may be that I am influenced without knowing it ... but I suspect not. I admire a few celebrities' style--Audrey and Jackie come to mind--but the real point of their style is that it was so right for them. They both had body types quite different from mine, as well as (of course) different personalities, so attempting to imitate them seems to miss the point ... and doesn't feel right either.

The Olsens.. not always of course but Ashley dresses amazing 90% of the time and MK.. well every once and a while she looks great. All the girls who work at vogue paris.. Carine, Emanuelle, Melanie.. ect. They always look chic and they inspire me as well.

You make a good point, although we're not talking about copying a celebrity, we are talking about influence. Almost everyone is influenced in some way or another by someone else, it doesn't necessarily mean that we are imitating them directly.

Well I think Kate Moss, The Olsen Twins and Lou Doillon inspired me. But I get the most ideas from the fashion blogs and also magazines

I would count 'Blair Waldorf' as a celebrity but she definitely has influenced my style these days, a lot more preppy and polished

yes. even if not exactly what they were wearing, but just that they were wearing it and it seemed right for them and whatever style profile they were fostering. I've always thought it's kind of funny actually, that the majority of celebrities whose style I admire wear things I would never wear. I think Mary-Kate looks like an idiot most of the time, to be honest, but I've found myself more experimental with my layering and my accessories choices after seeing her style. Likewise, I hate most of Kirsten Dunst's overall outfits, but being a fan of hers and following her style for some time has given me a much better appreciation of simple little concepts like the fact that something like a plain white t-shirt can look better and more impressive than the most bedecked halter if it fits you perfectly. I guess that's all sort of abstract influence, though.

more directly, I try out a lot of colors I think Halle Berry looks good wearing because we have a very similar complexion. I have a similar stature and build to Rachel Bilson, so I pop into her TFS thread from time to time to take mental notes on what looks she's worn that I like and might work for me in terms of fit and proportion, and things she's worn that I didn't believe flattered her and that I should possibly steer clear of bothering with.

oh, most definitely! MKA, Carine Roitfeld, Melanie, Huynh, basically all the people who work at paris vogue:heart: and model's style.

I am usually more influenced by films.

Mostly period films...is that bad? B)

Same here actually.

The Olsens had a huge effect on me as a teenager,I admired Mary-Kate especially to the point of obsession ^_^ And even know I would still say them

yup, audrey tautou.

we're the same height, almost same bearing (i am bigger up top ..., but then...) same hair, same jaw...

during my fashion schizophrenic moment, i am so happy to 'find' her as her style really inspires me in putting what i like (clean face, simple-yet delicate clothes) in a classy yet interesting way.

now whenever i wanna buy a piece, i often asked, "would audrey wear this?"

it really helps me in sticking out with my fashion personality.

I have certainly been inspirited by a few people, namely Kate Lanphear, who is amazing. I really do love her style - it's professional and classy, but entirely her own. Recently I've also thought Gwyneth Paltrow has looked really good as well.

Clemence Poésy has influenced my latest buys a bit. simple but chic...I found that this is a really good strategy to but clothes for me, because so I buy things that I will wear for a long time

Yes, definitely Clémence Poésy. She has inspired me to take on simple and classic pieces. Also in the way she carries herself because posture and confidence are key. Basic makeup and a fresh face with natural hair every once in a while spicing it up. I also became very interested in Martine Sitbon back in 2005 because of her. I liked many of her outfit pieces and researched them and discovered them all to be Martine Sitbon.

The influences aren't obvious in me, however, I take elements and combine it with my own style, although I'm still developing my own style. I find that I don't really try to emulate celebrities whose styles I admire because I feel that it suits them so well, but not myself.

^ Daphne would be tough to imitate, I'm thinking  I love how she really puts it out there.

^I admire her for her bold eccentricity and dramatic flair rather than her particular style.
