Your country's most expensive magazine

I paid $35 for the July Issue of Vogue Italia.
I live in the middle of nowhere so I don't get a lot of international magazines.

I feel like the most I've ever paid for a magazine is ~$14 for Lula. Then like $9 for Dazed & Confused. And I guess Pop was pretty pricey, too. But these were all imported. For U.S. magazines, I think paying anything over $4.99 is an abomination...

Hmmm...well the most Ive paid is 17$ for Vogue Italia. But hearing about how some people pay 23 for V is insane because here its only 6$

oh that's fun someone revived this thread as i wanted to open such a thing.

guys, the prices are going insane ... i guess you all think i am lucky because in france vogue paris and jalouse aren't expensive ... and purple fashion and self service their "normal" price (15€ and 20€ ....) but OMFG when you wanna buy something else ...

first i noticed ArenaHomme+ price has grown up .... from 9.9€ to 12.3€ .... maybe i'm mistaken. but i do think i'm right.
and i always wonder why Vog.Italia always goes from 6 to 7.5€ and then back to 6€ ....
this current issue is 7.5€ .... damn it. i had not enough cash on me ....

anyway. today i was at my local magazines dealers. and wanted to get my dose of magazines. but here is what i realized when i had them all in my hands ....
i would spend ........ about 90€ ..... it's INSANE !!! it's TOTALLY INSANE !!! I used to do that in my teen past. but i've grown up ....... and now have differents other things to buy and spend my money on .... or just have less money ....

so i just bought Interview ....

In addition to all those factors, the older I get, the less I want to live my creative life 'through' other people's work (by looking at it, collecting it) because I have my own creative output and my own life experience to draw on, rather than needing to consult a magazine for inspiration, comparison and opinion.

When I was 16, magazines were a gateway to a bigger world of creative people and cultural trends, but as the years pass, and your own creative place in the world grows, the same magazines start to seem more and more small-minded and repetitive. They're no longer as precious to receive, and therefore not something I'd pay as much money for, as I once did.

So the economic downturn hasn't affected my spending on stuff like magazines, it's more personal than that.

Vogue Italia 85 pesos = 35 dolars
VogueFR 91 Pesos = 39 dolars
I-D 95 pesos = 41 dolars

Georgian Cosmo - 6 GEL= 3 €
Russian VOGUE - 15 GEL= 8 €
Russian ELLE - 12-14 GEL= 6-7 €
Russian GLAMOUR - 8-10 GEL= 4-5 €
Russian COSMOPOLITAN - 12 GEL= 6 €

the most expensive magazine which i can buy in my country costs 8 euro (russian fashion magazines) There are 6 fashion magazaines in my country: Vogue RU, Elle RU, Glamour RU, Cosmopolitan RU, Bazaar RU, + Georgian Cosmopolitan. If I buy all of this magazines I will pay maximum 40-45 euro

UK Vogue is $13
Vogue Nippon is $20 and is usually a couple months back
I-D is $11
POP is $17
Another Magazine is $20

SS, Purple are $30 each; Estilo is about $25. All 3 come wrapped, so I the pile never move. For months I see the same 4 or 5 copies at the bookstore. In this economy, I don't know that many people who would buy an international magazine (without name recognition) for $30.

The magazines in Belgium are so cheap! The most expensive I've seen costed less than $6. (€4.50)

I'm so glad I don't have to pay $30 for a magazine. That's insane!

I have never seen Self Service but i might have seen Purple but have never picked it up

No, the most expensive here in Brazil is Self Service, R$129,90 = U$52,00 ... and Pipoca, do you live in Rio ? Because here Numéro costs the same as Vogue Paris !
