YSL Muse

jan - I like the ivory because for me it is so hard to find a good classic looking white bag that I really like and it would last season after season for me. But then again it is down to your wardrobe ..good luck deciding

Thanks Klow - I know what you mean about it being hard to find a great looking white bag. I recently bought the white Chanel reissue and have the white paddington on order but....I could cancel the paddington and I think the Chanel white is more grey-ish/lavender-ish than "WHITE" - ya know? The black Muse (they call it the "bugatti" on the Bergdorf website - and, it DOES remind me of a bugatti for some reason) should be here by Mon. or Tues. so I'll see how I feel about it when I see it IRL. Thanks again!

so what is the name of this one???

it has the 2 Ys as the FAUVE but with crescent shape!!

I dont like those crescent shaped bags, they look so much like the ones which have been out for ages with the boho trend.

thanks findesiecle & good try brian, that is quite difficult to pronounce:blink: ???

I am still wondering if the FAUVE has the intial service???

anyone here with MUSE and intials, I wana see it????

what a brilliant idea for marketing: a bag named MUSE with the customer name on it,....it is so personal touch that give u the feeling that ur Yves Saint Laurent's Muse....and build kind of special relation with YSL & u ...

Okay - already figured this out. Bergdorf's has the black in stock in the large size, free shipping, no tax - so I ordered that (paid an extra $10 to have it shipped two-day). In the meantime, I have the small white preordered. Now I'm not planning on keeping both - ha ha - we'll see!

remember that there are three sizes: small, medium and large (though everyone calls them different things). the small is a hand-held bag that comes with a strap. the large is an average size bag and the large is quite large. I do agree with those who generally find the bag boring -- it is plain and basic, which is why I feel like the oversized one is the only size to get. i tried on the large and it was blah.

The embossing is a great idea in theory except the person only comes out from Paris to do it for one day in Hong Kong, and not at all in Singapore. How does that help? Sorry...just having a rant cos i'm annoyed about this.

Im confused why they have the initial service on these bags. I can understand it it ws a Hemes bag..but these bags seem more "ordinary"..

No offence to those who have and love their bag!

I think I can tell the sizes by the price difference. It appears that they call the sizes XL, large and medium. Anyway - the black I ordered from Bergdorf's was $100. more than the ivory one I ordered from NM - which I'm sure was the smallest (although didn't see or read anything about a shoulder strap - I just remember it was about 14" wide by 10" tall - same width as the paddington). The fashion industry is just so predictable (one extreme to the other). I never could jump on the tiny pouchette-under-the-arm-bags just like I can't jump on the massive suitcase sized bags either. But I do like the trend toward more minimal styling - all the pockets ala MJ and details ala J. Choo, have done NOTHING for me. My taste runs more toward the architectural and workmanship element as opposed to a gazillion straps, pockets, zippers, and buckles - to me, those bags look like an overdecorated house at Christmas  . Okay - enough of my unasked for opinion:blush: !

Well, I keep saying I am done buying handbangs...then...my resolution fails. (I completed my Xmas shopping in August this year, but am still in the mood...). The XL muse was a bit big for me, but had an opportunity to try the large black today at YSL. Well...it came home with me for a try-out...I have to say I love how the large fits on the shoulder (straps are a bit longer than the XL)...so, it can be arm or shoulder held...I really think I like it!

On a side note, the slingbacks had to come home with me as well...they are sooooo comfortable (3" heels) and looked great with the jeans I was wearing (and can also wear them for work)...justification, justification...

if the Muse is overdecorated to your taste, I wonder how ur going classify Dior bags :Gambler, embroidered saddles, Hardcore, Flight, Rasta, D'Trick and others with thier busy monogram ???
and not to forget the Spy, B-bags by Fendi & the new LV summer collection???

No, you misundestood me - I said that the bags with all the pockets (ala MJ), straps, buckles, clasps, etc. are overdecorated to my taste (never did like ANY obvious monogram on a bag - never saw a Dior that didn't make me cringe) - the Muse, therefore, to me, is not "blah" but shows an architectural elegance of design and craftsmanship. Love my mombasa, Chanel reissue, etc.

Oh SoCal - CONGRATULATIONS!!! Bag and shoes look AWESOME!!!! Now that I've heard your opinion - I can hardly wait for my black large Muse to arrive.

Jan, I think you will love it! You can wear it on your arm or your shoulder(w/o jacket, I think) and it fits as much as the b-bags (more than the re-issue). I am going to use it tomorrow. This one is a keeper!

Guessgirl, might ask the husband to take a photo (but am afraid he might think that is a sign that the TFS addiction has just gone too far, haha).

oh sorry, I read ur review in a hurry ,plus i am so excited about the Muse...I guess I deserve this :hardhead:

socal, i love the bag with the shoes. together, they are so st. tropez to me.

it occurs to me that ysl is perhaps one brand where wearing two pieces together is more stunning than wearing one by itself.

 No problem. I'm excited about the Muse too. Mine will be here on Monday. Hope I love it and that it's as classy IRL as it looks in the pics.
