I purchased the black muse (large) at YSL South Coast Plaza. They did not have any more black in stock at SCP, but you might check other locations. YSL SCP did have large in brown and ivory, XL in brown, and small in ivory. The price of the large at the boutique was $1195 + tax.

I just ordered mine, on line, from Bergdorf's - free shipping and no tax (being sent to Calif.). I went ahead and paid $10. to have them express ship it. It is supposed to be here tomorrow.:woot:

SoCal, congrats!! I really love both pieces! So classy!
Greendrv, Thank you! I used the bag yesterday and today, love it! It seems large at first, but is actually "just right". Fits as much (perhaps a bit more) than the spy. Dumped everything from my Bal city into the muse and had room to spare (was convienient for the "contraband" items my husband and I brought into the movie theatre this afternoon...) Liking it much more than the Chanel re-issue as a day bag (similar to your earlier inclinations, the re-issue seemed too small when I "loaded" it). I also appreciate the length of the straps on the large as it can be worn on the shoulder as well as the arm.

Jan, you will have to report when your bag arrives...hope you enjoy!

They didn't have the large at Berdorfs anymore, only mediums in brown but luckily I found one from saks and I am really excited about receiving it next week. Just in time for Christmas.. a gift to myself:blush:

Socal -- do you think you can post a pic of you & your muse together? I'm still deciding btwn the L & oversize & would like to have an idea of how big or small the L size looks. TIA :flower:

do any of you have a photo of yourself or anyone else carrying the oversize muse or fauve?

I finally set my eyes on the muse. It was on display at our local YSL store. The one at the display window was the gold, and it stopped me in my track. I never thought I would love gold on the bag, but :gasp: and it's not that big!

I peeped into the store and saw the black which I don't really like because of the black/gold combination. I find it too severe. And I think I saw a dark dark moss green. And that's nice. Or did my eyes played tricks on me?!

Kare -- I believe the gold you saw might be the L size. The SA told me they only received the brown one in oversize when I called yesterday.

Oh then the really gorgeous one I saw inside the shop must be brown. I remembered seeing two sizes for that one. It's a really nice, dark brown.

Idlebunny...saw the brown yesterday in both the large and XL...size is really a matter of personal preference. I am partial to the large size as I feel it can be worn more comfortably on the arm and shoulder. I believe most pictures of celebrities show the XL. IMO, the XL is huge! So maybe you love huge bags and the statement that they make, or maybe you are a bit more practical and love a bag that is large, looks fabulous, but doesn't make the entire statement...

Oh gosh you guys......my Muse arrived and I didn't love it - so I returned it to Bergdorfs. I can't really put my finger on what it was other than it just didn't thrill me. Maybe it's because I've been using more slouchy bags recently (other than my reissues) or the fact that it wasn't a real easy fit over my shoulder - maybe it's the bowling bag shape (I'm not a fan of the McQueen Novack). Also, I pre-bought the Lanvin Kansas in black which is due to arrive pretty soon. Anyway - if someone wants it, maybe if you contact Bergdorf's on line, and tell them that you know one is being returned, they'll put your name on it.

Bunny, I do think the oversized is a little too big. But as SoCal said, it's very subjective. I like big bags, yet even I think the L is too large. Frankly, the only thing that stopped me from getting the bag is the depth.

Once again, it has to do with my height too. I'm only 5'2" so the oversized would look ridiculous on me, I think. Also bear in mind, I'm not really a vertical bag person.

Jan, I totally understand what you mean. I have the same considerations about the bag.

I don't think I'm a very structured bag person. Unless the bag's small, like the reissue.

Yes, the muse is quite structured. It is my "one" structured bag right now...the Chanel did not work for me as it was too small... Jan, on the positive, you now can set off to find the perfect replacement... It seems there are always some bags that you love on others, but they don't work quite right on/for you. I also like the Lanvin Kansas, but sold mine mid-Fall...just did not use it like the b-bags...

Loving the ostrich muse, but am not sure I would love the price...
