Jackie....call the manager and act really upset about it. Don't be angry unless you really have to...but they should replace the bag...if not what type of credit card did you use? you can probably charge it back.

I will call the manager. I have a feeling they are just going to offer to repair it. Will let you know what happens.

well say this you bought to carry to something so if they can do it ASAP then fine.

The problem is I live about 100 miles away from the boutique and I am definitely not driving there.

The manager was very nice. She didn't propose replacing the bag but said they would repair it. A part of me is wondering if I should even keep it. It seems like there is some kind of quality issue with the Muse. I am not particularly hard on my bags, I don't carry books, etc. I mean if this is happening after only 9 days I can only imagine how it will look in a month. I want a bag that has sustainable quality, especially when it costs $1300. I don't think it is too much to ask for. For example, I have a black Bottega Veneta hobo that you would think because of the woven leather would be more fragile than the Muse but it is holding up beautifully.

The pull tab on one of the zippers of my Muse has come off. I am really annoyed, I've only had the bag for 10 days.

How irritating,I'm sorry :( . Has anyone else had qualtiy issues with thei bag? This thread hasn't mentioned a whole lot of them...

(I saw that some stitching had come loose, but not much else).

I hope that mine is ok...

Thats one good thing about living where there are no boutiques or departement stores other than saks. No tax!

A few of my stiches have come loose, but I haven't had any other problems.

It's not really bad, I haven't done anything about it. It's only on the back too. I can take a pic if you'd like.

Thanks GG...a pic would be great!! Glad it's not too bad:D .

Just took a few pictures of the stiches. All the pictures are of different parts of the bag, but it's all on the back that rubs against my jeans.

hmmmm....this is making me think twice about getting a YSL bag. for the most part, do you all feel that the bag is very durable and that the flukes are the ones with sticthings coming out, etc?

Overall, I do think it's a very nice and durable bag. I dont think any of my bags are 100% absolutly perfect, I can list a little fluke in all of them.

For me it's the fact the problems are showing up so soon after purchasing.

The deal IMO with problems on some of these bags: If the problem is obviously a result of normal wear and tear - like the stitching coming loose where it rubs against your clothing - then you try to be careful and live with it. But where it's a definite quality issue - I don't care if you've had the bag for 1 day or 1 year - then, given the prices, the manufacturer needs to be held responsible. For ex. - no one should put up with the peeling hardware issue on the paddingtons - even if you've had the bag a long time - some rubbing off of the finish however is to be expected. Some one on this thread said that the top stitching on their Muse was coming out and the SA said that it was supposed to do that to achieve a vintage look. IMO that is ludicrous!. Jackie, I would get the bag repaired but not assume the rest of the bag will fall apart - the issues with these bags have been few and far between and I think you can count on YSL to stand behind their product.

... even if the big hand-topstitching on the muse bag does come loose, it shouldn't matter because it's machine stitched around the edges and held in place with rivets anyhow... nothing's going to come apart...

Some of you may remember I had this exact same problem on my oversize brown muse.

I took it to YSL in Hong Kong (even though I bought it in Singapore) and they fixed it for me. Now it's fine. But, I agree...shouldn't have happened in the first place. Seems though that most new bags on the market these days of their own little foibles.
