As a starting point for pre-fall, Stefano Pilati looked to Mr. Saint Laurent’s fall 1977 “Opium” collection. Still, only a few elements, such as the archive print of colorful autumn leaves on an oriental landscape or the black leather cheongsam dress with cap sleeves, were totally Eastern in spirit. The rest of the clothes were infused with Pilati’s urban-chic obsession, topped off with a bit of sportif: The detachable fox-fur hood that can be worn with a big black cashmere coat or on a python-printed chiffon blouse is a prime example. Python, actually, was one of the collection’s leading motifs, similar to the dangerous sensuality of the “Opium” woman.

dresses and skirts are nice but the shoes and pants are hideous

A few of these things aren't bad, but considering how many other designers have channeled the Opium collection with outstanding results I don't have much hope that Pilati will erase them from memory.

Not exactly sure what Pilati's fascination is with that of fit in trousers. It's really unflattering to most women in their mid section.

Anyways, the styling is great and couldn't be more spot on. It's very chic and effortless to say the least. How well this collection will translate into the real world where women will buy only a few pieces from each outfit, will be questionable. I mean, how many women do you know has the body type to wear those types of trousers?

well ,not bad...i 've seen worse !
I kinda like the feel of this pre/fall ,nothing spetaculair but very YSL .. I like it so far, very chic

looks better than all the other stuff Pilati has been doing recently at least

I don't find any thing remotely dangerous or sensual about any of these clothes, and to even play that game of word association and try to link this with Opium? Really? Perhaps the heavily reformulated version that's currently holding down store shelves but not the real deal automobile, the smoky tendrils of which let you know you were not in Kansas anymore :) Can we get out the torches and pitchforks and chase this guy out of town already???

The four first outfits look great, just not sure about what happens next.

I personally think Pilati is on his way back, this channels early 80ies Rive Gauche with a touch of deconstruction. I imagine a Bettancourt heiress in this. Think I love it really.
The pants, well, yes..

Reminds me of Erdem Pre-Fall:

style

Very polished and luxurious take of the so-in-the-moment 50's and 70's crossover combo.
So many highly covetable pieces. And great accessories.
