Probably my best womenswear collection from Pilati. I still dream this to this day and it keeps inspiring me. It is such a timeless collection and feels more relevant now than ever. I hope he helms a big house again!

I remember liking this collection, too, very much at the time. But I think it was a bit ahead of its time, and that's why it probably wasn't received as enthusiastically as it could have been, say, 5 years later. This sort of minimal, 80's style silhouette and volumes, along with the kitschy and funny over-the-top embellishment, could fit very well for today next to Pradas and Celines.

I think even the amazing set and soundtrack here somehow translate a lot better for the current fashion language.

This was the last show of Stefano’s I liked for YSL. Even though the Fall/Winter 2008 collection was iconic, it was the beginning of the end of him for me. It was too cold, too clinical, too distant. All the warmth and sensuality disappeared after Spring/Summer 2008, and it never returned, sadly.
