Zac Posen Fall 2005: NYC

Sorry to disagree but I think its horrible - it says nothing, there is nothing even vaguely new, it could be from a designer twice his age (not a compliment, it just looks old), horrible colours, badly cut - plus he's really annoying

I second that. Looks like he's been perusing some really old fashion catalogues and emulated what he liked best. I see nothing new or at least something that doesn't scream "I've been done before by many, many others!!".

No one will answer you directly....but what's indirectly implied.....but....

It's best not to bring up such things here.....you may find what you say about such things mysteriously disappear from the forum altogether...like magic!!!! (or, better, the magical wand of some mod)......

I like what he's done here. He's definitely not one of my favorite designers, but this collection has some beautiful clothes.

well...i think that the front row is obviously diddy's posse...and a blatant attempt to get media coverage...

seriously...do we really think jay z is passionate about zac posen's designs???...
c'mon!!...it turns it into even more of a circus than usual...i liked it better when he had young hollywood-(clare danes, natalie portman) in the front row(not that i like them really)...at least it made more sense since they actually wear the clothes...

maybe we're gonna see jay z wear the blk strapless dress in his next video???...
fade to black???... :p :innocent:
LOL...

i do think that he's completley over-rated...and people always say how zac is such a media darling because he looks so good in pictures...???...huh??...
i think he looks like a small troll that crawled out from under a bridge...i DO NOT get the appeal whatsoever...and i see nothing special about these clothes...not hideous/not great...very MEDIOCRE>>>

which to me ..is the kiss of death...

fyi-apparently he's rolling out shoes and accessories soon...will be interesting to see if he basically copies manolo's style... :innocent:

Wow, that's such a funny comparison.... Lol...... I can't stop laughing!!!!

I like this collection. I think it is really good. Especially dresses - I love some of them.

I love the clothes...

...as seen in Ralph Lauren, Armani & Joop seasons ago...:innocent:

NOBODY STEALS DESIGNS MORE SHAMELESSLY THAN ZAC POSEN! :yuk:

Every single designer steals openly. Do a search on ebay in the vintage section, and you'll find plenty of the designs showed on several runways.

I can't say it terrible, it's not good and it's boring and he is creepy& over hyped.

Love the top.

I know a lot of people cannot stand Zac Posen, but I really like how he makes the clothing look. Natalie Portman, a huge fan, always looks really nice in his sophisticated clothing..

No, but the "rap guys' girlfriends" will be wearing this stuff... and if you notice, some of the guys brought their girls with them... it kind of makes sense. I'm gonna hafta go with Urban here.

He has yet to really reveal his own spirit, he seems too satisfied with obvious comparisons and connections to McQueen/Ford. He has beautiful cutting skills. We can't forget that he is still a young designer, still trying to figure it out. I think he'll be good for American fashion when the dust settles. And enough with the whole P.Diddy junk, if he put up money for my collections he could bring all of his goons and their mamas and I'd put them in the front row too. It's still a business people, no matter how passionate and elitist you wanna get about that skirt hanging in your closet.

Agreed.

that statemnt is simply false...the designers with no orginality and no talent steal openly...(see marc jacobs)...

but not hussein chalayan...or jean paul gaultier...or martin margiela...and i could go on and on...
it's so sad that it has become so accepted to steal because there are so few original talents emerging in recent years...

what a sorry state of affairs... :(
