That pic looks like a chinese custom ... and the make up does not seems geisha nor japanese like ... I think that outfit is used for dancing and has extremely long sleeves ... if I stand corrected .. those are called "water sleeves"

I saw the trailer and it's magnificent. I loved the part where Sayuri was swirling the fans. I read the book last week and this is the movie I'm looking forwards to besides Harry Potter.

Sayuri's eyes are one of the most memorable thing about the book...so I'm glad they got them right. I know she's wearing contacts, but they look very realistic and not so obviously fake like some asians I know who wear blue contact lenses!

I keep on checking on www.zreview.com....but it keeps on saying Date to be Announced. I'm hoping that it will have a simultaneous global release. But I'm thinking we'll probably have to wait till next spring.

Yup...me too! I think it's gonna be released in China and HK in December so I might go back just to see it. THAT'S how desperate I am to see it.

Well...it did say blue-grey in the book. From the trailers, they definitely look like a petrol blue colour, not piercing blue. I think they heightened the blue in the poster to make it look more striking against the white skin and red lips.

I love the poster...it's understated, the coloring is striking (those red lips, white skin and blue eyes!!!!) and Zhang Ziyi looks beautiful.

Saw some pics, as well as the trailer, and I cannot wait to see this movie. It looks absolutely beautiful. The "snow dance" scene looks amazing, as does, well....everything else.
