The Slovak name Zuzana is the same as the English Susanna, and both are derived from the original Hebrew name Shoshana, which means "Lily".
2007 was not such a good year for Zuzana Gregorova. She broke her ankle and missed fashion week in New York. Zuzana was also involved in a controversy that erupted over one of her pictorials for Dan Cassidi's summer collection.
Dan Cassidi is the leading fashion brand in Israel. The controversial photo depicted Zuzana Gregorova lying semi-nude on a mechanical shovel, while next to her was an open mass grave, alluding clearly to the Holocaust. Naturally the depiction drew protests from the family members of victims and Holocaust survivor organizations called for the cancellation of the fashion campaign.
Meir Kadosh, the publicist behind the creative concept of the photo shoot, first claimed that the idea for the photo had come from the 18-year old Slovakian model! And he insisted that this young model, Zuzana Gregorova, had never heard of the Holocaust. He also said that the photograph was not part of any campaign but was to be used in an article for
Tel Aviv Magazine. Kadosh then changed his tune and admitted that the photos indeed depicted the Holocaust but claimed that he wanted to warn against
another Holocaust, charging that it was to come if Iran succeeds in attacking Israel with nuclear weapons!
Poor Zuzana! Luckily for her this controversy did not affect her modeling career, and it may have helped her get more knowledgeable about important world events. During the Miss Sixty fashion show, which was held in 7 World Trade Center, the first building near Ground Zero to have been erected since 9/11, Zuzana Gregorova told the Washington times, "It is a nice view, except you keep thinking about what happened, but I think you have to get over it."
Zuzana Gregorova, with her icy blue eyes, and unique bone structure has the ability to look androgynous like in this picture for DKNY Jeans:
Zuzana also has the body to look gorgeous in bikinis and lingerie.
Zuzana Gregorova has been featured in editorials for Tush Magazine (Germany), LAG magazine, Italian Elle, Vogue Germany, French Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Greek Vogue, 10 Magazine (UK), and in Marie Claire Italy.
Each time before going on the runway Zuzana has the habit of praying that she may not fall down! Her favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate and in clothes her fav color is pink.
