50's Prints F/W 03.04

Seems like 50's styles are quite hot for the UK market.
Not sure about matching hats and hairstyles
(i'd prefer a more 'natural' styling, dont mind the make up though )

what do you all think?
are you already in a vintage mood? B)

In response to the article you posted on Pom Poms,I love the typical 50's shilouette. The volumes: Simple and fitted on top and flared and exuberant on the bottom with skirts. I like that style but done too literally I can't seem to stomach it.

Miuccia though,can't give her any credit as I've been seeing this look for a while now. Kishimoto,Persoons,United Bamboo etc.

very kishimoto inspired, still prada helped out in the mass developement of this trend.. could Mucia be kishimote inspired

Well,my thoughts are screaming, copycat!!

Same with overhyped "Crap" Posen and Pourenza Schouler. Not to mention,cheesecake designer Carolina Herrera Just seems all to weird that after many underrated designers have adopted things from the decade and made it part of their styles,that now they're starting to unleash stuff of their own.

i am a vintage nut! i absolutely love vintage and the days when i wanna feel pretty and feminine the 50s style always fits. For my funky days, the 60s sort of mod thing fits. Either way the vintage coats and dresses are my new loves.

So funny you started this topic today. I just started getting into the vintage thing a few weeks ago. Bought a vintage Lilly Pulitzer belted dress, a fifties pin dot dress, a white plush evening coat (beautiful, but bought it on eBay and it's too big- *cry*), and three clutch purses. Since we're on the topic, anyone got any good advice for shopping on eBay? I'm having mixed results.

Also, where do you find your vintage items?

I dount really liek the first pictrues, to em it just looks liek theya re copying vinatge directly, the runway looks are more creative and modern IMO.

I love fities skirts, im obsesed

Exactly how I feel igni*. If its reinterpreted in ones own personal way,I most likely will appreciate it, if not love it. That goes for anything pulled from the past. That's why those the things are still around and if designers haven't learned how to utilize them by reinterpretation,they aren't very good designers,imo. Just,rehashing old styles I find very boring and uninspiring. Otherwise,what's the point of buying something from a designer when you can get something old already from a vintage shop or your grandmother's or mother's closet?
