I never really got the hype with this girl, she's always caked in gaudy make-up, has a very boring bone structure ('fat' face syndrome), can't act to save her life and has horrible style. Yes, her eyes and hair are absolutely gorgeous, but that's it.
I can't see how she compares to Christy Turlington, Waris Dirie, Monica Belluci or even Angelina Jolie.

i've always thought she was overrated as well. she just looks very groomed all the time if you know what i mean. attractive, yes but not beautiful.

I don't think the charge that only her eyes are pretty is fair. It seems whenever someone has outstanding eyes, people say it's their only beautiful feature seemingly regardless of their actual face. I think her whole face is extraordinary and unique - heart-shaped face, beautiful full mouth, etc. etc.

What's wrong with looking "groomed"? It doesn't mean she isn't beautiful naturally... makeup can do only so much. I'm not crazy about her makeup and style, but at least she makes an effort and doesn't go out with absolutely no makeup looking washed-out, making herself fodder for those no-makeup tabloid specials. For me at least, beauty and style are two very different things. I'd rather see a pretty woman with bad style versus an ugly one with good style, because style can be improved... real beauty cannot.

I guess she isn't trashy or common enough for some, which is the sad reality of many starlets today. Aishwarya is old hollywood meets bollywood, she's a glam chick who always dresses conservative and a bit traditional. My only criticism of her is she should take more chances with fashion, with her face and body, she can get away with a lot of style.

I read about her in a magazine...Seeing pictures of her now I think she has a pretty face almost in a smug photoshopped-can almost chisel the make-up off type of beauty. Overall blah. She should really stop wearing SO much makeup!!!! And as for style I think she has none.

I agree with quite a few people on here that say she wears a lot of make-up and that she is not stylish.
However it has to be said that when she doesn't wear as much makeup she is very striking, prime example is the Bengali film Chokher Bali.
