i know that everyone thinks she has done amazing things at mcqueen, but personally i feel that she has a very heavy hand and it just keep getting heavier by the collection. like jil sander once said, the more you master your craft there is more of a lightness, a purity that is reflected in your work. mcqueen might have done some crazy heavy stuff, but there was always a purity of thought that rang clear throught out his work and that was where his genius was clearest. sarah burton might be an incredible pattern maker , tailor or what not, she might even be very good at some place else, but not here, not at the helm of mcqueen.

I don't think I can ever forgive Sarah Burton for creating something so ugly, which will forever be burned in my memory. She better bring her A-game next season because this is just tragic.

Looking back, her first collection for the house was her best. And it was really an homage to McQueen more than anything. With each new collection, it becomes more and more obvious that she has very little of her own point of view to add. She keeps going back to what she thinks McQueen should be, but like someone said it's heavy and heavy handed. This one is the worst collection thus far. It's like there are five separate actual pieces designed and then each one has seven variations of it.

Time for Sarah to go.

well. it looks like sarah reeeaaalyy enjoyed the new muppet movie.
there are some honestly really pretty exquisite looks here but they are ruined by the extreme repetitive-ness. who on earth needs 7 versions of the same look?! if she didn't have enough inspiration, time, drive whatever to create 40+ looks then she should have just left it at 20 some looks.

That'll take some time to digest. It's gargantuan, massive, imposing, awe-inspiring, almost cavewoman-chic. Space invaders from a very cold planet. It looks more aggressive than her past collections, imo.
The repetitiveness makes me angry and reminds me too much of a certain someone over at Balenciaga.
