i just did not like that fur jacket in the menswear and i still don't. it looks like a tossed away teddy bear fashioned into a jacket! with that said, i LOVED the first part of this collection as it hit all of the ann demeulemeester bases that we rely on her for. however, the second half of this collection so seriously reminds me of dsquared2's latest collection that it'll be interesting if it gains traction and establishes a new trend.

ooh the whole nina simone aspect,the feathers,the sultriness and elegance really makes me think of jazz artists in the 20's and 30's. it's very elegant and within that mould of of demeulemeesters and that particular era....it doesn't cross into garishness at all.

Completely agree with you, Scott. This collection exudes elegance. The opening jackets are so beautifully constructed. In terms of wearability, the red and feathers are best in smaller doses. But overall, it's a really stunning collection.

even though black and red are colours that tend to look good together, it isn't a combination that always works when it comes to clothes imo, especially when they have this dark mood (and feathers!) but here ann d. did it beautifully. i love this collection.

there are actually a few pre piece's up on bergdorf's site. a very nice ann hooded knit jacket being one of them. dont see it on the runway but who knows what lays under all those layers...

interesting how she started the show with a soft rhythm and built it up into full blown blast of energy. even though the earth tones and wool pieces appeal to me more i am a goner for those silver bracelets inaya gave us a close up of. the sharp toe of the boots are very provocative especially with the scarlet accents.
