the shoe-cap and the hand-cap in fall2002 collection are crazy, but the collection on the whole is quite gloomy (but beautiful)... something Marylin Manson would appreciate for sure (I like it too anyway).

OT: coldrice yes this avatar is drawing lots of comments I taken it from another electronic music forum (ps: and yes I like Aphex, and IDM in general, even though I listen to IDM, Drum&Bass, Punk, Reggae, Darkwave, Gothic, Hardcore, DanceHall, HipHop, SynthPop, Techno, House and TripHop music)

Yeah,I think A/W 2003 was his last.

I loved A/W 02...that one was probably my favorite from him.I don't know about the Marilyn of late as his look has been a bit dandy-ish and more structured,but yeah definitely quite melancholic,that collection.

Of the original six my favorite has to be dries- very wearable for everyday. Current seasons inclusion of his trademark combinations of checks and plaids are my current favorite ( along with rykiel- although RH is rather hard to find in london). i've never really bought stuff from ann- it always seemes overpriced especially for simple unlined jackets.

Of the newer group margiela is the winner for similar resons to dries- wearability and ease. It may be sacreligious to say on a site like this but sometimes high fashion (especially italian labels) are an absolute joke i'n not in on.

umm...margiela isn't really part of the new group...he actually started out the same time the original "Six" left for London. That's why everybody gets so confused about his participation of that show with them. But he was already in Paris I think or doing some commercial stints. Then as we all know he worked at Gaultier for the longest before starting his label in '88.

Even though it's been raining all day today I've been thinking of summer and what stuff to wear... If I'd have to pick one, this would be my favourite S/S collection by Raf. The lines are so clean, the white is whiter than white, and the green is just very summery... the sleeveless tees with the geometrical patterns were just the most amazing ever, not to mention those crisp white sleeveless jackets...

It looks like a few people are interested to see more of Dirk Van Saene's work in this thread; unfortunately pics are pretty hard to come by, so I've decided to post this editorial from the first issue of A Magazine, which was guest-edited by Van Saene. It's a bit of a career retrospective: all of the clothes used are from various DVS collections from 1991 through 2001, also the makeup is recreated from different DVS shows from the past.

These aren't scans, they're just digital photos of the magazine pages, so the quality isn't the best...but it's what I could manage for the moment...

The title of the ed is "A Little Goes a Long Way," photography Ronald Stoops, styling Dirk Van Saene, makeup Inge Grognard.

I think this book is a must-have for anyone interested in Belgian fashion. Through this link you can look at several low resolution pages scans, including the famous Dries show set in a (drained) swimming pool, a Margiela show with models' faces veiled, and a Raf show with capes.

Faust,you know in the Jurgi section....did you notice that coat with the white chiffon bits on the top row? That's the first ever piece of clothing I saw from Jurgi....and I am still in love with it! It was in an issue of Elle right when Belgian Fashion was really rearing it's wonderous provocations Internationally.

Those early collections-after discovering his work-really kind of reminded me if Carol Christian had gone way out on being a bit more romantic and slightly whimsical(in a deranged way,of course).
