I have about 6 pairs of gladiator sandals that I absolutely love and that I usually rotate wearing when it's warmer. I can't wait to wear them again but my sister was making fun saying they are no longer cool- what does everyone else think? I hope that's not the case bcuz I love my gladiators!!!

Do you really care about what other people say? Wear whatever you want. Besides, UGG's are it right now, and they're ugly, so you're gladiator sandals are just fine.

Who cares? If you want to look trendy, then sure, buy some other shoes. I don't want to look trendy...at all.

I think there aren't many options what flat shoes to wear when it's really hot to begin with and since most other styles are pretty darn awful - flip flops, crocs, Brikenstocks - there isn't much left anyway. I think gladiator sandals are very cute and they can look stylish with skirts, shorts and skinnies so to me they're the perfect choice for summer.
Of course you can also wear ballet flats, Converse sneakers and such in summer, but I end up swimming in them pretty soon, so I definitely prefer sandals.

I actually had two pairs of gladiators on my wishlist for next summer - a pair by Emilio Pucci and one by Belle Sigerson - and I thought I'd wait for them to pop up/go on sale on theoutnet, thinking since gladiators were said to be out of fashion I didn't need to hurry up with buying them, but once they were in/went on sale they both literally sold out before I could even add them to my shopping bag!

I bought a lovely pair last summer, I'm not about to stop wearing them (welll... when its summer anyway) just cos it may not be 'cool'...

gladiators are a summer staple.... fact (well at least in the south of france where i live) so half of my wardrobe is filled with them!!!

i have a sneaky suspicion that they will re-emerge. That whole caged-up foot thing seems to be here to stay.
I can't recall where, but a few websites featuring new/spring stock featured them recently, so I dare say the trend isn't dead.
And like the above all said: dress how you wish to. I can understand the fear of a recent mega trend seeming weird once the hype is over, though.

I think they are here to stay for a long time. They´re not as thematic as before as someone pointed out "That whole caged-up foot thing seems to be here to stay"

I think they can be staples to outfits.

I have these (but in black) and I get compliments on them all the time. ^_^

As someone who has viciously disliked gladiator sandals (but has since eased up on them), whether they are "in" or not, I don't really care if they are "in" or not. I am not saying this in a disrespectful way. I'm just saying that if you like them, wear gladiator sandals proudly. What matters most is that you like them and that you're happy wearing them. So what if some say they are no longer in and are so 2000s? You wear them, and you're happy wearing them with your outfits.

In other words, who cares if gladiator sandals are still "in?" If you wear them and love wearing them, who cares what anybody else thinks? Don't follow trends- just wear what makes you YOU. Express your own style and don't give in too much to trends.

I think they're never going to be out of style, they look good, they've been worn since ancient times and it's the most obvious and practical kind of summer footwear!
You should never be worried about wearing what you like, anyway :)

I like them, I have a pair of gold ones but I don't get much of a chance to wear them.
