Balenciaga blacklists Vogue Paris?

Similar to what someone have mentioned, maybe MAS knew what VP was doing secretly with the Balenciaga samples and when they fired her she probably wanted to blow off some steam and told Nicholas about what the VP team was doing. Mmmmm. So twisted! I love it! I hope it is true! At least something remotely interesting is happening this fashion week.

I've probably visited this thread more than any other thread. I hope more info comes along. More twists and turns needed!

I'd hate it to end with a boring petty reasoning.

Like some of the people here, I don't fully believe that story too. I may be wrong but it's just that this is the same site that reported Kasia Struss got the Balenciaga SS10 campaign so...:innocent::ninja:

and the nymag statement was  wtf

Word on the street, or in the Tuileries, is that French Vogue was blacklisted from Balenciaga via Max Mara. The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Carine Roitfeld, consults, or did consult, for the Italian brand. She allegedly asked Balenciaga for samples for an editorial shoot, and one of the coats ended up at Max Mara’s design studio where it was copied and then sent back to Paris.
Balenciaga’s notoriously strict with their samples — almost everyone has to promise they’ll shoot the head to toe runway look and samples are usually lent out for a day at a time — and when the French label heard about Max Mara, they lost it.
If fashion were a monarchy, Carine would be our queen, so we hate to think she deliberately sent Max Mara the coat, but our sources say it was no mistake.
I don't believe this at all. First off Max Mara's atelier is in Italy, Balenciaga's in Paris. No way in heck can that coat go to Italy and back without Balenciaga demanding it's where abouts. Secondly no one lends out samples for 24 hours. That's crazy. A fashion closet needs time to get the samples, check them in, tell the editor they have arrived, and then the editor looks over the samples, and then 92% of the time on a different day the editor shoots the samples. A fashion house or pr firm is lucky to get clothes back in a week. Balenciaga has the clout to demand three days, but a day, it's just ludicrous. You can't do a high budget on location shoot with 24 hour samples, and most Vogue Paris shoots are that way. Lastly I highly doubt Carine would personally send the coat, especially a sample. If she really wanted to give Max Mara a Balenciaga coat it wouldn't be a piece that has to be returned to Balenciaga. Especially if Max Mara wants to truly study the piece they would take it apart.

The most I could get out of this rumor is an intern (cause they return garments, not editors) accidentally put a Balenciaga coat in the wrong bag, and Max Mara got it. Obviously Balenciaga would be pissed that their coat went missing. However these mistakes happen all the time and it's nothing to ban a magazine over.

edit: My money goes towards the Sauve rumor. However, I'll doubt anyone except VP and Balenciaga will ever get more details than what has already been said.

I'm probably reading too much into it, but I just bought the March issue of Vogue Paris and noticed how exact articles found in an Isabel Marant ad were featured in the editorial pages as well... same with Balmain. The entire magazine has a style to it, even the ads- but I could say the same about Vogue US and, to a lesser extent, W. I do believe that this... whatever it is that Balenciaga is accusing Vogue Paris of is probably happening all over the place.

I'll just add more fuel to the fire  It might not even be about this, but wth!

From jakandjilblog's twitter...

I received some news tonight that is going to SHAKE the fashion world in the next two days. CRAZY!!!!
I can't tell. I swore I'd zip the lip but I'll tell you my mouth nearly dropped to the ground when the news was whispered into my ear

^I hope it's about this issue! MORE JUICE! YES! Hahaha.

^^Even if that isn't about this whole VP/Balenciaga, I still want to know what jakandjilblog is talking about!

These little tidbits just gets your smut sense tingling when I don't think anything salacious as we have already assumed happened in actuality. Unless Carine gets fired within the next 2 days, I don't think anything will "SHAKE" the fashion world.

^Or if other Vogue teams become blacklisted as well; that will also be a groundbreaker. But the other editor in chiefs that are as prominent as Carine is Sozzani and Wintour. I want to see that happen; just for fun of it. Haha.

I wanna know what's gonna happen in the next 2 days.

This has been the most exciting fashion week ever and not even really because of the clothes .

Weird model castings and comebacks, McQueen's show, live streams everywhere, and now a scandal ! And the scandal is just now starting !

If what the Jak & Jil blog does not have anything to do with this, sounds like it will be something amazing to add to this excitement ! :woot:

Perhaps I've missed something, but when was Marie Amelie "fired" from Vogue Paris? To my knowledge, she was a contributing editor, and began contributing to US Vogue regularly. It's a natural progression...the same with Melanie Huynh, she left to pursue other avenues and options. It's funny how people jump to conclusions...

Oooh the Jak & Jil gossip sounds juicy and blackmail-worthy

Things are getting more and more interesting, how exciting!:D I love drama!

I hope it's not true, because I really like Carine.

Carine Roitfeld for President.

I definitely smell a scandal here, but honestly we could start a new thread on a scandal in fashion every week  there's a lot of stuff happening behind closed doors that we don't know about

I don't believe that she was fired too unless ofcourse a reliable source says so. She had been contributing to US Vogue even when she was still working for VP but her name was only listed on the masthead in the July (or June) 09 issue. This was also the month where her name was no longer seen on VP's masthead. Coincidence? I think not. Wintour probably swiped her from Carine.

I really wonder what jak&jil was talking about. There was a blind item on TI lately about changes and shifts that will create a surprise. Maybe it's the same one?? I am so confused now:doh:

I think my theory has 0,001% possibility of being true, but imagine if VP had copy more then a balenciaga coat? For example the style of a pants.... (I admit... it's very far-fetched....)
