Balenciaga Resort 2006

Consumable Balenciaga, two words which I never thought would be together. But the new heads of Gucci Group must love this collection, it's consumable but it seems to lose the essence of Balenciaga that Ghesquiere gave.

The structureless design of that dress is so unGhesquiere, maybe it's just me.

Its not just you who thinks that :innocent:

I usually love Balenciaga but not too keen on those few outfits.

I like what I saw, but I must agree, it is not very "Ghesquiere-esque".

The last outfit, especially, looked liked it belong on the Chloe catwalks for S/S 05:

whats the deal with all the comparisons designers have moods and feelings he probably was in the kind of mood the clothes are,and if you look at the full thing it doesnt look like chloe.

I love the skirt in the second pic  and I love the last outfit.

the first dress posted was totally unexpected, especially its color, but the rest it simply gorgeous, pure balenciaga. love it!!

they look like they come from separate collections

I agree. Based on these 4 photos, it doesn't seem cohesive. I do like all the looks, though. Particularly the jackets :flower:

Does anyone know where you can see the entire collection? Thanks in advance!

And thanks to you for posting this thread, Lena

this is so nice. im glad that this resort collection did not disappoint.it's the best i've seen so far on the forum.

I love how he uses Ann-Catherine Lacrioux and Anouck Lepere.

i love seeing anne-catherine too...she's such a "balenciaga" girl...

i need to see more pics of this collection...it's so hard to gauge what's going on by only seeing 3-4 looks. and the balenciaga site doesn't show resort collections...

I like the second look (Anouck).

But the last look (on Ann-Catherine) is very Helmut Lang.

I thought the same.

Thank you so much for posting, Lena.

yes i agree, but dont you think it looks a lot like Chloe and Stella Mccartney?
i think all of these brands really need to separate themselves from each other, there is such a similarity sometimes its hard to tell the difference!

i completely agree. helmut lang is what came to my mind when i saw this

^YES! I was wondering if anyone else was thinking that.

we all know Nicolas is not the most original designer in the world.. he's also been borrowing heavily from Mark Le Bihan and Sharon Wauchomb

"Balenciaga reprised this oversize dress from 1966 for its most recent cruise collection."
