Bangs - Styling, Side Bangs, Fringes etc.

i think a bob would be cute!
you have lots of layers, so if you want it all one length, a bob might be what you need, but you might have to keep up with trim.
i bet the salon will have some good ideas. :-)

I have a bangs question: is it possible to maintain bangs without using any complicated products/straightening/other styling?

The way my hair is worn is au naturale, a la Kate Moss/Sienna Miller. I keep coming back to Irina bangs and that blunt cut from YSL (which completely grew on me ) but I think that Irina's style might need more straightening/maintanence. The YSL cut looks more carefree and natural, so maybe that works?

I'm not supposed to be straightening/etc. my hair right now so that is not an option for bang upkeep. I don't want to get bangs if they wind up looking too messy/frizzy/whatever. :(

How do you think this style of bangs would have to be maintained?

I think it probably would 'frizz up' a little without any product/straighting, unless your hair is not the type that does that.

^Do you know what products would be good for keeping it frizz-free?

Thank you for the reply, BTW. ;)

I had my bangs cut just like Anne Hathaway's in The Devil Wears Prada. It looks good, but it needs alot of styling during my bad hair days! I sometimes leave it side swept when I don't have much time to style it.

My fringe (bangs) needed alot of styling in the first few weeks but now it just styles itself and I don't really have to touch it.

i think it really does depend on the wave/texture of your hair. my hair is kind of thick, and ultra-straight, so the irina bangs are the least amount of work possible for me. someone with waves might need to run a straightener through, or maybe just dry them straight down. either way, i love bangs on just about everyone. ^_^

Sorry to bump this post up,
but I was considering cutting bangs, the one length kind. I've had side-swept bangs before, but never straight across, so I was wondering, would they work well with a heart shaped face?

^ I think staight bangs would look really nice on your face shape. It'd suit a pointy chin well. :)

I'm thinking of growing my bangs out though... And it's such a pain. Will i have to clip my bangs up for like 5 months, or is there an easier way to grow bangs out?

I've been thinking about getting my hair cut in side bangs, but I don't hav the guts to do it! I'm always worrying about something...what if it turns out really bad, etc.

also I have a wide chubbyish face...bleurgh...and that kind of round wide face isnt too good for sidebangs is it? Since the width of the bangs would emphasize how wide my face is or something, if you know what I mean..
Right now I can just frame my face with my hair in an attempt not to show my wide face too much..

right now my hair is very naturally layered, so it just looks straight. My hair refuses to curl or go wavy, and looks very straight and limp, no volume at all...would that work with bangs? lol sry for being kinda paranoid...if anyone can give me some help or suggestions that would be great! thankies :)

i think super straight hair looks amazing with full on straight across 'bangs' (sorry i hate that word, much prefer the uk fringe!) but if you have a round face, it emphasises it. side swept fringes look good on everyone...

I've had both kinds: straight blunt, and side swept. Side swept has worked best for me as far as being low maintenance and variety. I have hair that tends to frizz.

i did a protein color glaze recently (sebastian cellophanes in coffeebean) and right away i noticed that it made my bangs super shiny, staight and sleek. my hair is pretty straight anyway but the glaze makes my hair look flatironed and shiny (it also adds great multifaceted color). ^_^

style_star i don't think keeping your bangs styled will be such hard work. i have undefined curly hair and with a simple blow dry they're styled (i then flat iron them, but that's me). so if i can get them in a presentable way, so will everyone ;)

VintagePearls bangs look good in almost everyone, so maybe you should give them a try!

i'm in the same place as you! i've had bangs for over three years and i kinda got bored of them, i now want this sexy long long slightly wavy hair look (go figure..), so i'm in the process of growing my bangs (and my hair) out. i wear them to one side, but it feels weid with the rest of the hair... i guess i'll have to put up with it

i don't know if any of you get frizz on your bangs, but when i do, i use serum oil and it usually keeps them in the right place. but when i'm not home and i don't have the serum oil, i take a little bit of lip balm with two of my fingers and 'straighten' my bangs with them. you don't have to use too much though, because it'd give you a greasy look.
