Behnaz Sarafpour for Target

I returned the lace cardigan. It made my arms look huge!

Same here. I thought the proportions on a lot of the tops were quite off, especially when I tried them on.

in the new issue of cosmopolitan with katherine heigl on the front there is a fashion spread with a model wearing the patent leather jacket and lace skirt.

it looks HOT. i am now going to buy these items online....

when i was in NYC this weekend i saw 3 behnaz billboards. i was glad to see them.

^I do have to agree, it's a hot looking outfit!^_^ Im interested in seeing someone other than a model wearing it. Lucy?? ;)
When I took a closer look at the high res photo for this look, I noticed finally that the patent jacket has big buttons instead of a zipper. I love big buttons!

I bought the lace tee shirt in green and at first i didnt like it but when i put it on it wasnt soo bad but i tried on the cardigan i didnt like the way it fit either on my arms and i have thick arms and thought it made them look even bigger.

I finally got my Behnaz order today...I wasnt able to pick it up from the post office on time, it was being held hostage!! lol

I got the georgette henley (white with black trim). It is a bit tight around the arms, but overall seems to run true to size.

I also got the white cardigan with the black lace down the front and it was a pretty good fit. I am concerend about the plastic snaps and what can happen to them in the dryer. The quality wasn't that bad on the sweater, let's see how long it lasts and how well it washes.

The georgette henley I am concerend about. The tag says 100% silk, but I am very skeptical of that. It's very flimsy and fragile. It would have been better if it were made of a sturdier fabric that wasnt so transparent. the top is completely see through!!! But I will be wearng it over a thin black turtleneck.

Question: IS BEHNAZ STILL DESIGNING THE BARNEY'S HOUSE LINE? WASNT THAT HER BIG BREAK? I just got the Barney's holiday catalog today and there was a very Behnaz dress there...white with black lace... : D

luvmelots - I just put pictures up on my StyleDiary of the babydoll dress and the henley. The link is in my signature. I hope that helps - the henley is not great (not a very cute print) and I plan to return it. I like the babydoll dress a lot, though - and the velvet is quite nice for the price.

Diormouse, I have to tell you: I loved, loved, LOVED your outfits on your stylediary. And I absolutely adore the first Behnaz henley, the see through cream with black piping. You got that at Target?? Definitely didnt see it at mine. Perhaps I'll have to do some online checking :)

Oh and agreed: the animal print was terrible.

Oh! I didn't think to take any, which is odd as I usually do. (Not because I'm egomaniacal but because I like to objectively look at outfits and see if they do or don't work.)

I will next time - and diormouse, I didn't see the babydoll at my Target either! It's cute.

I dont think it's egomaniacal at all - it's a perfectly healthy way to assess your outfits :) I say that bc I do it too

Wow thanks for confirming. I thought I was the Only one

ick! i was at target a few days ago and this line sucks!!! the materials used are really cheap. i wanted to look at the faux persian lamb coat (as i am a conesiuer of types for vintage ashtrakan and persian lamb, i have like four real ones) and boy was it uber cheap! it's all shiny and LOOKs like nylon. and for $89????? i could go on ebay and get the real deal for the same price! the leopard print coat wasn't much better. i started lusting after it after seeing it in a magazine add. thinking back to kate moss and her leopard jet setting style found in style shots from vogue years ago....much to my dissapointment, the add was photoshoped very much. the color level was saturated. in real life, that leopard print coat looked like a sad, used and pilling hookers coat!the color is very faded looking, the pile is aweful. i know my faux furs and working at a fabric store, i have seen some AMAZING FAUX FURS!!!! these furs used on the jackets are VERY low quality, the leopard is very faded and looks like it should be used on stuffed animals for WWF and NOT clothing! the persian lamb is VERY shiny and nylon-like and i dont like the way they treated the closure in front. you would think that they would take advantage of the new advances in faux fur textiles, and use something nice on these coats if they are going to charge that much!

the rest of it seemed very boring to me with the exception of the lace cardigan, which i didn't bother to try on because, once again...it seemed like cheap materials and something i could whip up at home much easier.

i had a girl come into my work with the lace duffle too. i noticed it right away. it is HUGE, and looks so much better in pics. it was a nice idea, but the execution looks, once again, cheap and underdeveloped from a design standpoint. without the photo aided stuffing, the bag looks like a big mess of a raincoat bunched up with straps.....

I received my order of the velvet black mini and animal print henley today and I am finally actually interested in keeping these. I personally am intrigued by the animal print and haven't decided whether I will keep it. It is a mix between animal and camo, which for me is totally different from my style, so it is stricking my interest for some reason. The mini isn't bad for the price so I might keep it as well.

I have had a problem though with the sizing of this line, especially tops in the arms. The animal henley in size 1 fit me well, except the arms were way too tight (I have muscular arms because I am a workout freak, but it seemed to be more than that). Anyway, has anyone else felt the same way? I think Paul & joe clothes fit better overall.

luvmelots - Thank you! I actually bought the henley(s) online; I don't live that close to a Target, and it seems like whenever I go there, the extra smalls are all sold out.

I'd rather pay for shipping than have to check in every two days to make sure they still have my size.

So far, the ivory henley and the voile shirts are the only pieces I love. The babydoll dress is cute enough that, like thepeppers said, it's worth keeping for the price.

I ended up returning the brocade skirt too... although I liked the fit and the shape a lot, the fabric was too cheap-looking for me, and I have a similarly-shaped skirt from Chloe.

i just bought the black denim skirt w/lace. it fits me perfectly. i wanted the black lace cardigan but it was so poorly constructed and looked like it could fall apart at any minute!

Did you get the green one or the white one? I just saw the green one on target.com today, but I haven't seen either in my local Targets. And here I am so desperately in need of more clothes! :shifty:

I got the white one, the green one was a bit over the top for me. It just didnt look nice in person

diormouse, thanks for posting those pics in your style diary. the babydoll dress looks great on you.

right now target has free shipping on clothes, and a 10% off code until the end of the month...better than checking the stores...

check this out: target has a feature when you can discern whether or not an item is at your local store.

for example see here: a paul and joe wristlet.

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=br_1_53/602-1219988-1751805?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B000G7NB1W

i hope they roll this feature out for all the go international items!

^Interesting feature you found, lucy. Thanks for sharing! I also hope they do this with more items.
