I'm confused now.

How do you actually get in to all these schools?

to concur:

Royal Academy in Antwerp(or Flanders Fashion Institute to be specific)
Bunka of Japan
Rhode Island School of Design
Royal College of Art in London
Middlesex University

San Francisco art school looks really interesting too. New head teacher from London.

I can't say much for Parsons,FIT and CSM because frankly of all I heard, they're really quite overrated.

Are you talking about the SF Art Institute? http://www.sanfranciscoart.edu/
do you know if they have classes for fashion design, becuase I couldn't find it on the site?

would FIT be a good school for business, instead of the actual design?

University of Northumbria (newcastle UK) :flower:

:woot: ^ did you go there bleedoll? or heard of people who have?

It has got an excellent reputation from what I've heard, I plan to go there next year.

hello!! yes, i was graduated from UNN. :flower:
It's a great school I should say with machines and textile room well equip. Lecturers are great & helpful too! Library is good, as you are able to do your self research there. I did not regret going there. I Missed UNN!

im there right now! im loving the course so far, although i have only been there a week!

i had my first encounter with an industrial sewing machine yesterday! they go far too fast:ninja:

WOW!! dat's great!! ;)
U will love it there... yes the industrial machine is superb fast, but as days go by and when you are used to using it, you will prefer industrial machine to normal house machine. You'r in Yr 1 now rite? Is Gill and Dougles still there?

heehee... UNN is a good school for fashion design and also engineering course. As this is a fashion forum, I should not talk about engineering heehee. UNN has a good reputation in their fashion courses. So is your BF specialising in Textile or Creative cuts? I was from Textiles, graduated 2 yrs ago.

Hehe spoke to him about it, he did textiles and dropped out very quickly probably why he was so quiet about it! :D He's taking a year off to settle himself in London before he goes to apply for photography courses.

I dont have much respect for Parsons because nobody from my secondary/highschool (in the 7 years i was there) was rejected from Parsons when applying... so I doubt their standards were that high as not everyone who applied could have been that good.

CSM is extremely hyped up but I think in the UK, it's *the* school to go to for fashion... don't know about Northumbria but surely being in London is much better in terms of the fashion industry.

Didn't know middlesex was good for fashion? or the arts although I knew a really talented bloke who did fine arts therer so maybe it is!

yeah im a first year! but i havent encountered anyone called douglas or gill:flower:

-royal antwerp academy...

-bunka for fabric use and extreme/eccentric (whatever you want to call it) design...

-CSM

I'm also going to throw in the fashion institute of Arnhem...:)

http://www.fashioninstitutearnhem.nl/

London college produces some one off tallents...

then you get the odd one dotted around the county...like jesse noy, who won the River island (UK highstreet store) Gold award after graduating from bath...

SCAD   , sorry but that school is a joke and terribly run.

Parsons and CSM seem very well connected in terms of internships and stuff, i don't really know how their programs are. Parsons seems more focused on spots wear and CSM seems more open minded.

Bunka, Flanders and Studio Bercot have exellent student work.:flower:

Pleaseee give me a break!!! I serisouly love people like you!!! Sorry but saying something like that is soo stupid...seriosuly...SCAD is a great school for many majors...fashion may not be its stongest dept. but its getting there. SCAD is by no means a joke!!! Its one of the top art school in America...if u knew anything u would atleast know that!!

I never thought i'd see the day where emotions would run high with talk over schools? lol...

antwerp. is blatantly the best !
you only have to compare their 1st yrs work w/other schools final yr work !

they should have play-off's...like..Antwerp Vs Bunka...

would be so cool...
