Great shoes but I wouldn't even be able to walk across the street in those.

Beyonce shows up at studio with bruise on her legs even though her face is being covered up, we can see a big bruise on her thigh in Hollywood on February 17, 2011

Thats a curious comment^. To an extent, i agree. You have to understand she is a very mainstream marketing machine, and whilst she has a large urban fanbase, she also needs to be relatable to the Western market due to her endorsement with L'Oreal and so forth. I do feel that the manner she styles her hair in this blond pigment misalignes her from her ethnicity but thats what he deems to appeal to the masses, and aesthetically, she does look better with lighter hair. If you look at Kerry Washington, she has a high profile endorsement with Loreal and they confine her to the ethnic products like bronzer, etc, and Beyonce promotes everything. I am dissapointed that she seems to abandon her heritage for commerical succsess, but such is the social setting we live in.

I've been reading that a lot lately. Anyways, I wish she would darken her hair, that blonde washes her out.

^ Me too (as in reading that a lot lately), partly I think it's true, partly not. There seems to be a lot of accusations of skin lightening etc. I don't think this is true, she's always had a deep tan tone, unfortunately the light skin/dark skin debate still rages for black celebrities, she seems to attract a lot of negativity in this regard.

However, I do feel that the blonde hair that she always pretty much insists on having could be read by some as some as abandoning her 'blackness'. It does suit her but so would her natural hair colour. She should wear darker hair every so often and then she'll just be seen as every other celebrity is i.e they like to change their hair colour often.

Apparently there is a fair amount of controversy about that L'Officiel spread since she 'blackens' up in it...not sure how I feel about that

:/

That is so confusing; is it just makeup when a black person does it but it's insulting blackface when they use a white model to do it. Is it wrong in both cases, wrong in 1 instance or it shouldn't be an issue at all since it's just a makeup and styling decision in this post racial world.

Confusing.
But I guess the controversy will have her in the news and generate publicity.

well shes styling herself in a very very atriciously euro-centric way and she looks noticably more pale in complexion. Besides her cousin, i donts see her around other black women, i believe Beyonce is intimidated of them.
