Boobs

^ Underwire, damage the breast?

Yes, laurette, looks like you're in need of some support. I wear underwire, sometimes slightly/medium padded bras. Those seem to do the trick. Perhaps, also, a bra fitting is in order?

kalli, I would NEVER leave the house without a bra ;)
Erin, most of my bras are slightly padded too but they don't seem to give enough support. It's not like my breasts are enormously huge, but it seems as though I have a weak connective tissue :(

I`m not sure but I`ve read that if the underwire is too tight it can cut off the blod circulation to the breast.

sorry if this seems like a silly question, but what exactly does 30, 32, 34...etc mean? I know A B C are cup sizes, but what are the numbers?
I'm asking because I got properly fitted, and the lady told me I'm either a 32 B or a 30 C...because bras get loose with time and 30 C might last longer. However...that doesn't really make a lot of sense to me. lol.
Thanks in advance! :) :flower:

Bra calculators always say we should add 2 or 3 inches to get the correct band size, but I have actually heard it is much more comfortable to wear the band size that is the same as your underbust measurement (in inches). For example, if your underbust is 30 inches and overbust is 36 inches you might be more comfortable in a 30D rather than a 34B. Has anyone tried this?

For those of us on a budget, I'd like to say that Target's Gilligan and O'Malley line has GREAT bras....I found some as supportive as the Ipex for large breasts for a fraction of the cost.

i used to hate my boob size and wanted a boob job since i was 11 for about 6 years haha, i recently accepted my size and then i had an accident where i broke bones in my foot and cracked bones too, i was inactive for like 2/3 months so i ended up putting on a stone and my boobs went up a cup size..hah. Now i love my boobs but need to lose the extra weight!

I am a straight man and i have never been a "big boob man". i know that i'm not the only one, but i can't exactly estimate what percentage of men think like me. shape, skin quality & position are a lot more important than size.

maybe this depends on your build. maybe the perosn is bad as measuring. but my underbust measurement is 26. that doesn't exist. if it did and i wore it, I would *********** by forcing my ribs into my lungs.

sweetie--if you were a d-cup, you would be able to tell. 30d's do not look the smae as 36b. I ama 30 and i have a really smll frame. narrow shoulders, narrow chest. i look smaller than most people. scarlet johannson is a great example fo a woamn witha small bak size and large cup size.

there are some great fashion pluses to that. i love charlotte gainsbourg's style, but it looks awful on a bustier girl.

Here's a boob related question: If a model's bust measurement is 34, is that under the breast or straight across it?

Erm... You have not understood my post at all.

1. I was not asking 'Are my boobs actually big! Please tell me yes! :woot:' I was asking if it is true that a bra with a band size equal to your underbust measurement is actually more comfortable than a bra with the band size you're 'supposed' to wear. I wore a 32 band size and even when I had it on the tightest hook it did not feel tight enough. I have not heard opinions from enough women to know whether it can work for everyone or not (and I don't want to waste time or money going to try them on), so I asked if others have already tried it. What you've posted does not answer that question.

2. You wouldn't ************* trying on a smaller band size. The women who told me what they had tried are still alive and well.

3. Actually 30Ds are the exact same size as 36As (and 34Bs). The only difference is the band size. The smaller the ribcage, the smaller the difference needed to be 'big' even though many people would underestimate the size. One of the women I mentioned wears a 30E and when she posted a picture asking people to guess her cup size they all thought she was a B cup (so did I) so I know that a 30D is nowhere near as big as it sounds. This leads me back to my first point: I was not asking for someone to tell me I'm a D cup because even if I went from a 32B to a 28D my breasts would not change in size at all. I would only try on a smaller band size and see if it fits better.

I don't know if we are allowed to post pictures of nude breasts here, so go take a look at the 'normal breast' photos on www.007b.com/breast_gallery.php You'll see that even though a 32A and a 38A have the same cup size, the 38A is much larger because due to the bigger ribcage, she needs much larger breasts to get the same amount of protrusion as the 32A woman.

i was teased for being flat chested in highschool. i'm 20.5, and my boobs are still growing. in the past few months they've gone from a d to a double D. they better not get bigger, it's so hard to find a 32DD. anyone got suggestions for DD bra labels? i picked up an excellent one from calvin klein. i went to century 21 the other day, and they had to search throught the whole store for me. it was embarrassing. they came out with 5 bra's from the whole shop!
I like my boobs when i'm naked. but i hate them in most clothes. i don't want to look like kim kardashian haha

I went for a bra fitting yesterday and...well...I think I've been wearing the wrong size bra all my life! So strange. Even though the cup size is 4x bigger than what I was wearing, my boobs don't look any bigger in the bra- in fact I think they look a little smaller.

What I don't understand is why anything over a D cup is considered "plus size." I'm over weight yes, but I am not be considered plus sized.

I think it is to do with the stereotype than slim women can't have t*ts because there is no fat on their bodies (even though they seem to forget that breasts also have a thing called 'breast tissue' inside them).

You should wear the size that fits you, not what any calculator or website says. If you really are a 36, there is no way you could get a 30 around your ribcage. If you can fit in a 30 comfortably, then there is no way you should be wearing a 36, because it will not give you any support.

The right size should fit nicely around your chest under the breasts when the hooks are in the loosest position. Go to a shop and have them measure and fit you for the right size if you feel unsure. Seriously, it's worth the time.

For some reason a lot of women wear band sizes that are to large for them. I think it may be connected to the fact that a smaller around-size means a bigger cup size (for same sized breasts), and a lot of women seem to have an idea of themselves having a B cup or max a C cup, no matter how big their breasts really are.

A friend of mine thought she was an 80B (european band sizes), and had been wearing that size for years. When she got measured it turned out she was a 75C. Another friend recently realized she is a 65H (extreme, I know. And her breasts are natural, she looks like a pin-up girl :) ) when she had thought she was a 75F.
