Bottega Veneta F/W 2019.20 Milan

I think that brands needs to have a note that prevent designers from changing the logo! It needs to stop at one point!

Tbh, his BV is so appealing. I went more to the stores in the past 2 months that i’ve been in a whole decade...
It’s a pity there are so many great things this season! I wanted to take most of the clothes with me...

I fail to see the appeal of his quilted shoes and ill-fitting tailoring but then again, I also failed to understand how people went wild for the intentionally 'ugly' part of Vetements' style when they were still hot cake - Perhaps you can elaborate?

Looking again on this collection, I feel like it's something that could have come from the hands of Kostas Murkudis, Nicolas Andreas Taralis or Costume National to a much more sophisticated outcome...

Ahah!
I forgot to mention how horrible the footwear was....
Except for the sneakers, the footwear is a whole new level of ugliness. Apparently, there are people willing to buy them...Oh well...

As for the clothes. They are very great. It’s good daywear, simple fabrics, very honest and it can speak to someone like me who is in her 30´s s or someone older....It has a mature vibe without it being matronly.

I only saw some pieces from the FW collection and they were good. I was told that his weird fit experimentations were fixed for the stores.

It will be interesting to see what he’s going to do for SS as his resort was great. I think his first runway show was a bit « trying to hard » with some pieces but his BV has a great potential.

And I also love the bijoux! It’s a pity that it’s so expensive. When your bijoux are more expensive than your RTW and it’s just silver, we have a problem.

nice looks and pieces here, but as jeanclaude said, no personality. and my problem is that i sense too much try hard and i cant stand that.
I feel the same, there is something about the casting too that just felt like they tries too hard to be “edgy” Anyone know who does it?

I really, really did not like this collection on the runway. But, you know, as the product trickles into stores it's really not bad at all. I still think it's a bit over designed and that Daniel Lee could really benefit from a greater appreciation for subtlety. And I do think his Bottega Man is way too affected for me to be caught dead owning any of it. And it's definitely a mess when you put it all together. THAT SAID, the individual pieces are quite special and offer a rather fresh, rather special reimagining of the BV DNA. If you can dress them down, they're quite covetable.

There's lots and lots of promise here. Lee just needs to realize that luxury, true luxury, is about a whisper, not a shout.

The more I look at this collection, the more I miss pretty, sophisticated dresses, which Tomas had plenty of, and this guy has none of (unless they're hidden beneath the coats..)

The quilted shoes are everywhere right now & selling fast $$

Fashion week is coming soon....
I don’t think those shoes will be a success outside of IG or fashion weeks.

I think that Daniel was maybe a bit too ambitious, but I see that he has ideas. He just needs to streamline and edit.I do like how aggressive some of the clothing is. Are they trying to transition into being more of a "fashion house" now?

The quilted/padded pumps are silly but that's what I like about them. I don't think that a lot of today's luxury "fashion" consumer will care that they can't wear them after a few wears.

I quite like the big "mutant minnie mouse" pumps myself. I also totally get why someone would hate them. In general I quite like the women's shoes. They're the kind of shoes that you can dress simply in and they will change your entire look. I'm not surprised they're doing well.

I have to say I'm obsessed with all the leather parkas. I tried one on in camel calfskin with this beautiful orange lined hoodie two weeks ago and fell in love; if only I had six thousand euros laying around for a jacket.

Some of Daniel's clothes are not my style at all, but those that are I would buy in a heartbeat. They're that perfect imo.

I heard their pouch bag are selling really good. I really like some of their items, but like you said I don't have thousands of euros for those items. I hope COS will do something similar... lol

It was inevitable....
The direction and positioning of Bottega Veneta as the « Italian Hermès » wasn’t Pinault’s vision in the first place. He inherited of that and thankfully, it worked.

I feel like Bottega Veneta will now have that balance of what it was pre-Tom Ford ( a fashion brand) and what it was during Maier’s era (a luxury brand at heart).

The woven cabas is cute and is a status symbol itself but it’s not really the type of bag I would carry at work.

It’s great to see brands finally taking clothes seriously. Clothes was such a small part of their business and now, thanks to the success of Gucci and YSL, Kering see that there’s a potential in developing clothes.
