UK Bazaar September 1964 : Maggie Eckhart by Richard Dormer

Having explored a significant proportion (say 20% of notable publications) of fashion magazine history from the last 40 years, this issue has emerged as a watershed moment.

Graffitti on a cover seems pretty ahead of its time in 1964.

Cover by Dormer, coat by Dior. This issue has a lengthy Richard Dormer editorial and some shots of Celia Hammond plus some rather ahead of its time stuff in addition to that.

Here's an ed by Michael Williams. Kind of ahead of its time again it seems...as its fairly political...

Next up, rare B/W Verushka editorial that is NOT BY RUBARTELLI. His work is of course fine, but it's fun to see her through the lens of someone else.

Finally, IMO one of the most impressive editorials of the early-mid 60s - Richard Dormer.

^I know, such brilliance in this issue. It's just a treasure, and so unexpected because though many of the British Bazaar issues of this time are gorgeous, none is as lengthy as this one...
