i have to agree on that, scott. it's because of him i learned to appreciate pleated details to the point of growing a bit of an obsession. this coming from someone who didnt want to know anything about pleated clothes after wearing terrible versions for many years in school.
....don't worry you are not alone in your obsession I completely concur,Bruno really helped develop my love for the folds too. Something in the way the guy does them,it's completely unexpected,experimental....not the kind same-y stuff we would normall see. I even think he gives Issey a run for his money. Certainly alot more romantic.
Ooh My ... ... The pleats ... Bruno's foldings are amazing. I must say I love this, but especially those jackets(both black and white!) are absolute stunning! Something quite animal over the folds .. or maybe leaves. Eventhough it might suggest something organic(folding living matter), it is very architectural feeling .. very moving! ...
And did I hear correct, that Bruno is doing an Homme collection?!!! ...
I know. There's a tiny(one image)preview that's on his web site...but it doesn't really give you any impression. Although,I'm certain it will be beautiful. I just hope he keeps a bit of the spirit that's in his women's in the men's.
I think I'm the only one who is somewhat disappointed.... most of this looks rather "Martin Grant", and the pleats are used as a sort of edged frills, could have been lace or tulle. While the pleated boleros are lovely, they remind me of Asfour/CommedesGarcons pieces. Issey Miyake hasn't been doing great collections these days, but at least what he presented in the past really explored pleats as a shape/structure for clothes. I have a man's wool vest/wrap thing I snitched from a boyfriend that is an incredibly simple concoction of pleated wool sewn into an V-shape, but when worn, looks like something straight out of science fiction, giving the wearer jagged shoulders. Pure genius!
i still don't know what to think...can't really tell much from what i see on the rack. looks pretty simple and sharp in silhouette but we know that can definitely be a cover as Bruno is definitely known for depth of detail and craft. i hope more will be spotted soon...i'd love to see it. if it's anything close to say kanya miki's style,i know i'll love it to bits.
