american stars compared to european celebrities look extremely PATHETIC. they're all trying too hard, and look TOTALLY FAKE. sure, pretty designer (necesarily designers that are most popular at the moment. kinds of balenciaga or mcqueen were completely UNpopular with all those olsens and stuff, but when they actually realized that most of the people who were balenciaga are called 'best-dressed' they started to wear it also. and now you see lohan or hilton with a balenciaga bag...this is tremendous) dress and hair&makeup looking like photoshoped. that's so irritating, i think they should learn a lesson about what REAL BEAUTY is while they in cannes.

WHAT HAPPENED TO CANNES? personally i count brittany murphy and jessica alba as cheap barbie dolls (no matter how cute and kind they may be-its just how they look to me) but they promote quite a big movie here. but HILTON? OLSENS? WTF??? no matter in which movie they've played, they just look ridiculous in cannes. NO NO NO NO to cheap l.a. a-listers in cannes.

I'm sorry, but that is kind of lame, trying to make it into an American-European thing. First, you cannot put all US actors or celebs in one and the same category just because they are American. Second, while I totally agree there are lots of people in Cannes this year that have no business being there, half of those people are European B-list celebs. And, no, I'm not American, I'm French/Swedish.

In my opinion, the American actresses don't look as bad as these two:

1. Indian actress Mallika Sherawat in that two piece outfit that leaves nothing to the imagination (though it does remind me of something the US celebrity Pam Anderson would wear).

2. Swedish whatever she is (actress, celebrity?) Victoria Silvstedt -- yeah, I am just not even going to comment on that outift!

She is Swedish. Famous because she was a Playboy Playmate in the 90's... now she just hangs out w/ Falvio Briatore and crew; and dresses like a hooker at most of the events she goes to. She is really pretty, and could look nice if she wore something like Calvin Klein or Ralph Lauren...

anyhoo... this ensemble is TERRIBLE!

She's scary. It's amazing how long she's been able to stay in the spotlight, basically just by clinging on to her Playmate of the Year title. And I never understood why GUESS? gave her that contract.
