hey hypnotic my roomate actually went into the store to purchase a strap for her damier speedy and they told her that they do not recommend it. The older versions of the speedy are not constructed to be held that way and the pull of the strap causes them to rip. the rep told her these new speedys would be released in a week (from when she went in) and if she really wanted the look to get a new one rather than injure her bag.

I see what you're saying. I don't know if I want another speedy. I already have 2 and I don't ever carry them. My monogram 30 speedy has this gorgeous patina, broken in look and that's how I like it. But if I get a new bag, not only am I wasting mula, it'll take awhile to patina...it has to be carried around a lot and I prob won't. But ya, thanks for the feedback
