Catwalk Trends S/S 09

I kind of like the fact that it seems a lot of designers showed "variations on a theme" of sorts in that they just tweaked past trends or took them just a bit further. It makes a less "trendy" atmosphere overall and makes clothing more relevant longer. Always good considering the state of many of our discretional incomes!:flower:

I agree. I may not be paying enough attention, and I haven't finished looking over everything, but I have yet to see anything that really strikes me as new.

I am loving the whole grey for spring, however

I agree - I think it's about mixing all the leftovers from prios seasons in a new way - kind of a challenge for your own closet - how can I make my older stuff new?

Denim Trends for 2009

What do you guys think is going to be a trend in denim for 2009? I am trying to put together a inspiration board for work...any suggestions?

I'm probably sure skinny jeans will still be around as well as high-waisted jeans. And let's not forget the greater of two evils- high-waist skinny jeans. Denim is not only restricted to jeans, so I'm not sure what else could become of denim for this year.

Well jeans is really a staple in most peoples closet so that won't disappear..
though denim used in other pieces, like skirts, dresses, vests etc have been popular for a while.

here is a link to a search I did for all topics about denim made in the trendspotting section, hopefully you'll find lots of inspiration there:flower:

Once again, I think off the shoulder >:[

And it seems the jumpsuit/ boilersuit is here to stay...

I also see jumpsuits staying in style. It seems they are trying to get that Lady-like style ala Luella popular with the Teen market. To be honest, I have not seen many youngsters fellowing that trend. It seems the still can't move on from the 80's, ugh!

I've noticed in my area and the stores around me chunky heels have been pretty popular.
I am not a fan.

Also I liked the Somarta dress that Gius posted.

OH PLEASE NO. We've already seen too much information with the leggings-as-pants trend... why can't we go back to the days when people were happy to get naked in their own homes? :P

^ looks good, but personally I'd be afraid to dress like this... it would make me feel like I'm wearing a younger sister's clothes
