Thats where the influence is directly coming from 40's menswear , which on Reddit is big with Gen Z men from what I am seeing but they don't call it 40s's they call it " Old Luxury" or "Classic Luxury"

It made no sense for me in the beggining, but now seing his 2nd collection - I see direction lore clearly. I still think it may be less directional than HS vision for the brand, but it may work if they are smart

Went to the pre-order trunk show today.

The bad and the ugly: wide lapels, giant shoulder pads, uber long coats, and very complicated clothes that come in multiple pieces. It felt overly engineered.
The good and the cute: the silk shirts come in very thick and luxurious silk twill. This is a huge improvement. Make them less complicated and not oversized for the next season please? The trousers are chic. The jazz shoes are refreshing. It's a combination of cute, wearable Parisian chic pieces combined with heavy handed menswear material coats and jackets.
The SS2026 runway show looks less oversized, so perhaps this was a transitional season?

I assume you like Blazy as well chaosh modern directionless design with some bits that remind you of the better days of phoebe philo celine .....asking for a friend :-)

It's online and in stores today.
The menswear is abysmal and I just wanna cry
Womens' tailoring not much better, I understand why they forgot their claim to do "couture" when Michael arrived.
The silks and bracelet charms might go viral and become a quick cash grab as entry-level Xmas gifts.

I just wanna cry, I need a vacation from my vacation.

Chanel will be same bazar of disjointed ugly stuff even if they don't have ecom but it will be noticeable nonetheless.

Such a shame that Alexander is so desperate to be the next contrivedly-curated pick me guy alongside Bad Bunny and Harry Styles. It's obvious this clownery is all his PR team’s/stylist(s) and he’s absolutely just going along with it, hoping for some clout. None of these people look naturally stylish, just so forcefully incorporated. :gag:Hope to see him carrying a sponsored logo’d women’s purse like Bad Bunny while performing, soon:gag:

Asian publications’ advertorial contents —especially Korean editions of the Western mainstream fashion titles, are always an informative, even educational marketing perspective to how a region accepts/appropriates/assimilates a mega-corporate brand’s strict total looks for publication. With the menswear now permanently inserted into every women’s publication, it’s also always plagued with twinks/kpoptarts— and likely a main reason why these brands double down on casting twinks and never men now. When Celine was Hedi’s, the menwear, as much as he always preferred skinny young things but never twinks, were never diminished in their timeless silhouettes and solid luxe, even the insufferable kpoptart casts (…and even inspiring enough to have had convinced me to snatch a leather coat from Hedi’s final collection for the brand). Michael's womenswear is slightly passable enough as Phoebe-lite juniorwear for trendy children, but with this Celine menswear, it’s all glaringly generic, nondescript Top Shop-esque unisex basics that’s heavily reliant on the stunningly cheap-looking logo’d outlet merch, Claire's accessories, and the juvenile department-store styling to push LVMH's multi-billion dollar profit projection. Outlet mallwear is the aura.
